added tothe one-piece belly pate, together
with the aft bomb bay walls and root, and the
‘outer wing sections glued tothe spar stubs
\which are very neatly engineered with locating
tabs to make sure of the right gapping to take
‘ne engine nacelles, The basic wing is
‘completed with the addkion ofthe upper
pieces, having made sure to have dilled to
locating holes forthe Yagi aerials. The
internals of the engine nacelle and main whee
bay get some adctonal deta trough the
suppor farnes and the rather neat tubular
engine firewall ramework, and the nacelles
themselves are assembled rom 11 parts
bolore painting the interior othe nacelles and
the corresponding wing areas with Mr Hobby
‘Super Duralumin (SM 208). Time now to
bing the fuselage and wing together and to
‘ada the tall empennage, al o which fis very
well, with only the slightast adjustment to the
length ofthe bol piece being needed, and the
sightost swipe of water-soluble filer to smooth
the wing and tailplane to fuselage joints,
already the pecullar nose-down stance ofthe

‘created using Mr Hobby H11 applied thinly to
bull up the colour whist leaving some ofthe
primer and Dark Sea Grey to show through as
shadows. Masking the white was pretty

The pipes from the colactor ing tothe
engine cylinders are provided as 22 individual
resin parts. Combined with the coul brace
and the horn intakes, this assembly requires
‘some patience and a delicate touch. | glued
the pipes to the top ofthe engine cinders,
checking alignment wih the collector ring
(PartD1) as! wort. The cow! halves, Parts D2
land D3, were also assembled at ths stage.
However, | aid not glue the collector ring to the
assembled engine or the cowl untl the cow,
engine and ring were all painted, weathered
and ready for final constuction. The hom
intakes (Parts 024) and the cow! brace (Part
108) were aso painted separately and lft uni
final assembly.

excess plastic was sliced off with a fresh
hobby blade
Miliput was then used to smooth the steps
and eliminate any remaining narrow gaps.
Heavy sanding folowed, which obliterated all
raised and recessed pane! detail within 20mm
