Use

The past simple negative is used to state an action that was not
completed in the past.

The past simple interrogative is used to ask and answer


questions about an action that was completed in the past.

The Past Continuous Interrogative

Use

The past simple interrogative is used to ask and answer


questions about an action that was in progress in the past.
