1 LAIR - SACRIFICE ROOM 1

KENNY ZEMACUS is standing just inside the Sacrifice Room.

Kenny sees TORCH standing at the other end, pointing a gun at


him.

Kenny and Torch stare each other down for a moment.

Then Kenny starts to walk towards Torch.

Torch watches as Kenny steadily approaches.

Torch shoots Kenny (bullet grazes Kenny) and Kenny falls


down.

Torch puts the gun down and approaches Kenny.

TORCH
Get up Kenny.
(beat)
Think about Mark.

Kenny lies on the ground, looking up at Torch.

SLOW FADE TO:

TITLE - DEATH GRIP

CARD: ONE DAY EARLIER

2 INT. CARE HOME OFFICE - DAY 2

Kenny sits on the sofa of a care home office wearing khakis


and a blue button-down dress shirt.

Kenny stares at the wall, waiting.

A female SOCIAL WORKER enters the doorway carrying a folder.


She plops it onto a coffee table and sits next to it.

SOCIAL WORKER
They gave the approval.

Kenny nods.

SOCIAL WORKER (CONT’D)


You can take him home today, with a
6 month probationary period.

Kenny scoffs under his breath.

SOCIAL WORKER (CONT’D)


What, that’s not good enough for
you?

KENNY
No that’s fine.

SOCIAL WORKER
You know, five years of selling
dope on the streets, and eight
years off the grid. You are but a
ghost here, Kenny. I’m surprised
they’re even letting you take Mark
home today.

Kenny looks out a nearby window.

A beat.

SOCIAL WORKER (CONT'D)


Are you gonna tell him the truth?

KENNY
That part of my deal?

SOCIAL WORKER
The deal is you give Mark a good
safe home, or he’s coming back
here.
(beat)
And don’t go off disappearing
Kenny. You’re an adult now.

Kenny nods and keeps staring out the window.

3A EXT. CARE HOME - DAY - LATER 3A

Kenny waits outside the care home smoking a cigarette.

A gate SWINGS open off camera. Kenny looks back and stands
up. He quickly puts out his cigarette on the ground and takes
off his sunglasses.

MARK ZEMACUS walks down the stairs in front of the care home
building with the Social Worker. Mark is wearing piggy
slippers and holding his backpack with a tube of paintings
sticking out.

Kenny stares at Mark.

Mark and the Social Worker stand at the foot of the stairs.

Kenny smiles at Mark.

Mark stares at Kenny.

SOCIAL WORKER
Mark, this is your brother Kenny.
Don’t you remember him?

Mark spots Kenny’s Honda parked behind Kenny. His eyes light
up.

MARK
George!

Mark walks past Kenny to the Honda.

The Social Worker hands Kenny a box with a red button on it.

SOCIAL WORKER
He brought this with him.

Kenny looks at the button for a minute. Then Kenny nods to


the Social Worker and turns to walk to the Honda.

The Social Worker watches them walk away.

Kenny approaches the Honda with his keys out, and realizes
Mark is already sitting inside.

Kenny goes around to the driver’s side door and realizes it’s
locked. He unlocks his door and gets inside.

3B INT. KENNY’S HONDA - CONTINUOUS 3B

Kenny looks over at Mark. Kenny turns on the car radio to a


baseball game.

KENNY
You like uh, you like baseball
still?

MARK
Yeah.

Mark’s holding a large silver locket. Kenny stares at it.

KENNY
Where’d you get that?

MARK
Mom gave it to me. She said it has
magic.

Kenny looks at Mark’s hand clutching the silver locket. His


hand is bright red with a rash.

The camera moves in close on Mark’s hand.

5 EXT. BASEBALL FIELD - LATER 5

Mark stands holding a baseball bat.

Kenny throws a couple baseballs toward Mark, who just watches


them go by without swinging.

Kenny throws one more baseball and it hits Mark in the arm.
Mark drops the bat and walks off camera, holding his arm.

Kenny stands holding a baseball bat.

Mark stands holding the ball, uncertain what to do.

Kenny lowers the bat and walks over to Mark. Kenny


demonstrates throwing the ball and positions it properly in
Mark’s hand.

As Kenny walks away, Mark throws the ball and hits Kenny in
the head from behind and knocks him down.

Mark sits alone on a nearby bench with his locket on the


bench next to him.

Kenny stands in the baseball diamond, still playing by


himself. He throws the ball up and hits it.

Mark looks over and see a bike next to him that is locked to
the fence with a black combination lock.

Mark starts dialing the numbers on it and pops the


combination lock open with ease.

Kenny swings and hits the ball again and then tosses the bat
down.

Mark looks up to see THREE PUNKS watching.

PUNK LEADER
What the fuck you doing with my
bike, man? Huh?

Punk Leader spots Mark’s locket on the bench and snatches it.

MARK
That’s mine.

PUNK LEADER
Not anymore buddy.
5.

Punk Leader dangles the silver locket and laughs with the
other two Punks.

Kenny holds the baseball bat, watching the three Punks


laughing at Mark. The camera closes in on Kenny thinking.

The three Punks are still laughing with the silver locket.

Kenny pulls Skateboard Punk aside and throws him to the


ground. Punk Leader jumps in and throws a right punch, which
Kenny dodges. Beanie Punk runs in and Kenny stops him with a
spinning back kick. Kenny takes off his hat and throws it at
Punk Leader, followed by a spinning hook to his head.
Skateboard Punk gets up just as Kenny sweeps out his legs.
Then Beanie Punk rushes in again with a jump kick, which
Kenny interrupts with a kick to his side.

Punk Leader comes in again and exchanges punches with Kenny,


who gets him in the gut before nailing Skateboard Punk with
another punch and kick. Punk Leader gets up again and throws
some punches. Kenny blocks them and knocks him down with
another leg sweep.

Beanie Punk approaches from behind with a roundhouse kick.


Kenny catches it and throws him spinning to the ground.
Skateboard Punk stumbles up and Kenny throws a spin kick that
misses him, but then immediately nails him in the face with a
left punch.

Kenny stands looking at the Punks on the ground.

Kenny turns around just as Beanie Punk swings a skateboard at


his head and knocks Kenny spinning to the ground.

Beanie Punk tosses another skateboard to Skateboard Punk, who


swings it at Kenny and misses. The two Punks throw a few more
skateboard swings at Kenny. Kenny dodges them until Punk
Leader jumps in with a kick to Kenny’s chest. Kenny is
knocked back into the gate of the baseball diamond.

Kenny looks around at the approaching Punks.

Skateboard Punk runs in with a swing of his skateboard. Kenny


dodges it and returns with a punch to his face. Kenny then
jumps up onto the gate to avoid a roundhouse kick from Punk
Leader and then jumps up to swing on a bit of hanging fence
to kick an approaching Beanie Punk. Kenny jumps down and
Skateboard Punk follows, swinging his skateboard. Kenny kicks
the skateboard mid-air and breaks it into Skateboard Punk,
knocking him out. Punk Leader runs in with the baseball bat,
swinging it at Kenny. Kenny disarms him and uses the bat to
knock the skateboard out of Beanie Punk’s hands. Then Kenny
swings and hits Beanie Punk upside the face with the bat,
knocking him out.
6.

Kenny turns and hits Punk Leader in the leg with the bat,
breaking his knee. Punk Leader drops to the ground and looks
up at Kenny, begging.

PUNK LEADER (CONT'D)


Wait... Wai-

Kenny swings the bat and smashes Punk Leader in the head.

The sound of SIRENS is heard in the background, growing


louder.

The Punk Leader lies dead on the ground with blood trickling
out from under his head.

Kenny looks down at the Punk Leader in shock. (End of


imagination)

FADE TO:

Kenny stands in the baseball diamond staring at the Punks.

Skateboard Punk is pulled off camera. Kenny lunges in and


shoves Punk Leader. Punk Leader shifts his weight and looks
back at Kenny nervously.

Kenny and Punk Leader stand in the baseball diamond, facing


each other. Punk Leader tries to look tough.

Kenny slowly removes his sunglasses and then immediately


punches Punk Leader in the face.

Punk Leader falls to the ground and looks back up at Kenny,


nursing his bloody lip.

Skateboard Punk & Beanie Punk stand silently to the side with
their skateboards and wince with embarrassment.

Punk Leader holds up the silver locket for Kenny.

Kenny takes it, looks at it, and then throws it back at Punk
Leader.

KENNY
Keep it.

Punk Leader shuffles back over to Skateboard Punk & Beanie


Punk and motions for them to follow him. Skateboard Punk &
Beanie Punk follow Punk Leader off camera.

Punk Leader takes his bike from the fence next to Mark and
walks off camera.

6 EXT. KENNY’S APARTMENT - LATER 6

Kenny’s Honda pulls up outside Kenny’s apartment. Kenny and


Mark get out of the car and walk up to Kenny’s front door.

As Kenny digs for his keys and collects his mail, Mark goes
inside and closes the front door.

Kenny tries to open the door, but it’s locked.

Kenny knocks on the door and Mark opens it for him. Kenny
goes inside and closes the door behind him.

7 INT. KENNY’S APARTMENT - KITCHEN 7

Kenny and Mark sit at Kenny’s dinner table with steaks on


plates in front of each of them. Water boils in a pot in the
foreground.

Kenny devours his steak, but Mark won’t touch his.

KENNY
You a vegetarian now?

Mark looks for the rash on his hand.

KENNY (CONT’D)
Look Mark, the reason you get a
rash on your hand is coz you have
an allergic reaction to silver.

Mark looks at Kenny and then down at his hand again. Kenny
sighs and looks at Mark’s fork.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Lemme get you a clean fork.

Kenny gets up and DIGS THROUGH SILVERWEAR in the kitchen


drawer behind him.

Kenny returns with an old silver fork. He puts it down on the


table in front of Mark and continues eating.

Mark takes the fork, holds it, and smiles as the rash forms
on his hand again.

Kenny glances up as he eats.

8 EXT. COMPOUND - NIGHT 8

A street lamp light turns on outside a large abandoned


compound.

10 INT. KENNY’S APARTMENT - BEDROOM - NIGHT 10

Kenny and Mark sleeps side-by-side on Kenny’s bed. Mark takes


up most of the bed, his arm laying across Kenny, and his
other hand still holding the silver fork.

Kenny stirs in his sleep as Mark rolls over, knocking Kenny


out of bed onto the floor. Neither wakes up.

13 EXT. MUSEUM - NIGHT 13

The outside of the museum is bustling. Three well-dressed


patrons stand outside the museum, and six more patrons enter
the building past an Outside Guard.

14A INT. MUSEUM - COIN CASE 14A

The museum is decked out for an event. Twenty Patrons


socialize around various cabinet displays of old artifacts.

An indoor guard scans the floor slowly.

The curator RINDY walks quickly past the patrons, greeting


them, and passes by a glass case on her way to the stairwell.

The case holds the Sacred Coin of Judas, centerpiece of the


exhibit. A plaque says “The Coin of Judas”.

14B MUSEUM - BALCONY - CONTINUOUS 14B

MICHAEL stands at the balcony and watches the patrons below.

RINDY (O.C.)
Michael.

Rindy approaches Michael.

RINDY (CONT’D)
Have you heard from the caterers?
Dellaki said he’d be here by nine,
but it’s already eleven.

A beat.

MICHAEL
You went with Dellaki?

MAZZOTTI (V.O.)
What’s this about Dellaki’s?

MAZZOTTI, finely-dressed, walks up to the balcony next to


Michael and Rindy.

Rindy and Michael look at him.

RINDY
The Catering is a little bit
behind.

MAZZOTTI
Again?

RINDY
(beat)
If I get a hold of him I could
cancel it, but...

MICHAEL
I told her not to.

MAZZOTTI
(looking at Michael’s
neck, stern)
Michael. Where’s your tie?

MICHAEL
I don’t need a tie.

MAZZOTTI
Tonight you do. The Aba Zanis have
six more artifacts to show. I’ve
got an extra tie in my office.

Michael saunters away.

Mazzotti looks down at the patrons below. Rindy smiles to


herself.

10B INT. KENNY’S APARTMENT - BEDROOM - NIGHT 10B

Kenny’s phone rings, stirring him awake. Kenny searches for


his phone, eventually finding it underneath Mark.

Kenny takes the phone and answers.

KENNY
Yeah?
(beat)
Tonight?

11 KENNY’S APARTMENT - MAIN - LATER 11

Kenny enters his main room in his catering clothes. He goes


to the table and fumbles around in the dark for a piece of
paper.

Kenny looks up to turn on the light switch and notices the


walls.

The walls are lined with paintings Mark made of two boys and
their mother. The three are portrayed at various points in
their lives, starting from Mark and their pregnant mother,
through vacations at various places, until Kenny and Mark
grew older.

Kenny goes to the last painting. It’s of Mark standing alone


in front of a burning house.

Kenny looks down and sighs. He sees Mark’s backpack lying


open on the floor with the now empty tube for his paintings.

12 INT. KENNY’S HONDA 12

Kenny drives his Honda in his catering clothes.

Mark sits in the passenger seat eating some of the catering


food with his silver fork.

15 EXT. MUSEUM - REAR 15

Kenny’s Honda pulls up and screeches to a stop outside the


Museum’s rear entrance.

Kenny gets out of the car and starts unloading the boxes of
food.

Mark sits in the passenger seat still eating from one of the
boxes of food.

Michael comes outside, a tie hanging untied around his neck.

MICHAEL
Where’s Dellaki?

KENNY
He got food poisoning. So I’m
covering for him.

Michael looks concerned and then notices Mark.

MICHAEL
Who’s that?

KENNY
Uh... that’s the chef.

Mark pauses mid-bite and looks up.

The sound of a door CLOSES and Michael turns around to sees


Rindy walking over.

RINDY
Wait. Are these guys supposed to be
with Dellaki?

MICHAEL
No these guys are Dellaki. He
called in sick. This is what we
get.

Rindy is about to give Michael a piece of her mind, when Mark


walks up to Michael and ties his tie for him. Michael looks
at Mark stunned.

Mark turns and walks into the museum, closing the back door
behind him.

Rindy and Michael follow and try to open the door, but it’s
locked. Rindy jingles the handle and Michael pounds furiously
on the door.

Kenny walks up and calmly knocks on the door.

Mark opens the door for Kenny. Rindy and Michael looked
stunned and walk slowly inside. Mark turns to Kenny and
smiles.

16 INT. MUSEUM - CATERING TABLE 16

Mark stands at a catering table with various dishes of


meticulously plated food. A pyramid made out of mini quiches
sits in front of him.

A patron removes a quiche from the top of the pyramid, and


Mark replaces it with another.

Kenny walks up to the catering table with an empty platter.

KENNY
I need another-

Mark presents Kenny with a new full platter with hors


d’eourves arranged perfectly in formation.

Mark smiles.

Kenny stares at the plate, looks at Mark, and then walks away
with the platter.

Another patron walks up as Mark cleans some crumbs off the


catering table. The patron takes the top quiche off the
pyramid. Mark tosses the crumbs over his shoulder and puts a
new quiche on the pyramid.

17A MUSEUM - COIN CASE 17A

Rindy stands near the coin case socializing with two patrons.
She turns and sees Kenny standing at the coin case, holding a
tray of hors d’eourves.

Kenny notices her presence and continues to gaze at the coin


in the case.

KENNY
I used to collect.
(looks at coin)
It’s a Tyrian Shekel.

RINDY
It’s an original.
(beat)
It was one of the thirty silver
coins paid to Judas to betray
Jesus.

KENNY
That’s an original of the thirty?

Rindy nods.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Jesus knew it would happen too.

RINDY
The question is whether God sent
Judas to hell over it.

KENNY
I’m guessing he did.

RINDY
Not necessarily, if Judas was just
playing his part as God intended
him to.

From off camera, well-dressed patron JOE approaches, holding


a dish of food.

JOE
I think what he’s trying to say is
that salvation is never guaranteed.
The only thing a man can do in this
world is work and hope for the
best.
(beat)
Maybe that’s why you’ve got Mark
working over there, huh Kenny?

Kenny and Joe exchange a stare. Kenny cracks a smile.

KENNY
Joe Crowell.

JOE
How you been? You here with one of
the organizations tonight?

KENNY
Catering.

JOE
(beat)
Well, it’s damn good!
(holds up food)
Man, what happened to you? After
your mom died you just kinda...

A beat. Rindy looks at Kenny.

JOE (CONT’D)
Sorry man. It’s just been so long.
(long pause)
Well, I’m practicing law now. So if
you ever need any advice or
anything, just drop by.

Joe hands Kenny a business card. Kenny looks at the card and
then up at Joe.

KENNY
(beat)
Good seeing you.

Kenny walks away to the catering table, drops his dish of


hors d’eourves, and walks off camera.

18A INT. MUSEUM - BATHROOM 18A

Kenny enters the bathroom and walks to the mirror. He


unbuttons his vest and then sighs at himself in the mirror.

Kenny notices the soap dish on the sink under the mirror. He
picks up the dish and throws it at the mirror, shattering it.

CUT TO:

Kenny stands looking into the mirror, which is not broken.

17B MUSEUM - CATERING TABLE 17B

Rindy approaches the catering table and notices that Mark has
arranged the food in perfectly organized stacks.

Rindy looks at Mark and sees food crumbs on his jacket and in
his beard. She smiles and picks up a napkin.

RINDY
Here.

Rindy leans forward and wipes the food from Mark’s jacket.
Then she licks the napkin and wipes Mark’s beard clean.

MARK
Have you tried the quiche?

RINDY
Um, oh not yet. Are they good?

Mark doesn’t reply. Rindy studies Mark for a moment, then


slowly takes a quiche.

Mark immediately replaces it with another. Rindy smiles


affectionately, then turns and walks away.

18B MUSEUM - BATHROOM STALL - CONTINUOUS 18B

Kenny sits on the toilet smoking a cigarette.

19 EXT. MUSEUM - LATER 19

The museum is locked up for the night.

20A INT. MUSEUM - STAIRS - CONTINUOUS 20A

Rindy comes downstairs and approaches Michael as he peruses a


security checklist.

RINDY
OK. The truck’s on its way and
they’re expecting the coin at the
airport by 3 o’clock. OK?

Michael walks away without responding. Rindy sighs in


frustration and stomps off after him.

20AA MUSEUM - CATERING TABLE - CONTINUOUS 20AA

Rindy’s FOOTSTEPS pass by the catering table, still covered


in empty food trays. We reveal Mark sleeping behind the
table, holding his silver fork.

20B MUSEUM - BASEMENT - CONTINUOUS 20B

Three dark figures (Torch and the two Thieves) enter silently
carrying guns. They creep through the dark basement and
continue off camera.

18C MUSEUM - BATHROOM STALL 18C

Kenny lays on top of the toilet in the bathroom stall,


sleeping soundly.

20C MUSEUM - COIN CASE 20C

Michael and Rindy walk up to the keypad on the rear of the


coin case.

Michael punches in a sequence of 4 numbers as Rindy opens the


safe box to transport the coin.

Rindy approaches the key pad and then stops and looks at
Michael expectantly.

Michael turns away and Rindy hits a sequence of 4 buttons.

The case CLICKS open.

20D MUSEUM - CATERING TABLE - CONTINUOUS 20D

Mark hums the tone of the button presses in his sleep.

MARK
Beep beep beep beep. Beep beep beep
beep.

20E MUSEUM - COIN CASE 20E

Rindy opens the glass case around the coin.

Michael and Rindy look up - and meet the Thieves face to


face.

Torch motions with his gun for them to get away.

Michael puts his hands up and backs away, but Rindy stands
her ground.

Rindy stares suspiciously at Torch, whose face is covered


with a ski mask.

Rindy slams the box shut, the lock CLICKS.

Michael looks over nervously at Rindy.

20EE MUSEUM - COIN CASE OVERHEAD 20EE

The Thieves walk up and punch Michael in the face. They drag
Michael and Rindy off camera.

20F MUSEUM - WALL 20F

Michael and Rindy are thrown down in a back corner of the


museum. Michael’s nose is bloody.

The two Thieves stand above them, with Torch behind. Thief 1
has his gun aimed at them. Thief 2 hands Michael a napkin and
a pen.

Michael takes the napkin and writes down a 4 digit code.

Michael hands the napkin and pen to Rindy and stares at her.

Rindy keeps her eyes focused on Torch. She takes the napkin
and writes on it slowly.

Thief 1 takes the napkin from her and looks at it. He slaps
Rindy across the face, and then presses his gun against her
forehead.

Michael looks at Rindy and down at the napkin.

It says “3418” “FUCK YOU”

20G MUSEUM - COIN CASE 20G

Mark walks into the main room, rubbing his eyes, still
holding his fork.

Mark stops and sees the locked coin case. He walks up and
sees the silver coin, with the woman’s face on it, shining in
the light.

MARK
Beep beep beep beep.

Mark slowly pockets his fork and then feels for the keypad on
the display case.

Mark presses both 4 digit sequences on the keypad.

The case CLICKS open.

20H MUSEUM - WALL 20H

Torch, the two Thieves, Michael, and Rindy hear the CLICK.

Torch motions for the Thieves to stay and watch Michael and
Rindy. Torch exits scene.

The Thieves keep their guns pointed at Michael and Rindy.

Michael and Rindy glance at each other.

20J MUSEUM - COIN CASE 20J

Torch walks up to the case and sees that it’s closed and
empty.

Torch looks around the museum and then towards the bathroom.
He walks off camera in that direction.

21A MUSEUM - BATHROOM STALL - CONTINUOUS 21A

Kenny lays still asleep on top of the toilet in the bathroom.

Mark’s silver fork pokes through and jiggles the stall door
open, and then pokes Kenny in the chest. Kenny wakes up.

Mark stands above Kenny.

MARK
Get up.

Kenny sits upright on the toilet, pulling the sensor off the
toilet in the process. The toilet starts FLUSHING.

KENNY
Damn it.

Kenny clumsily screws the sensor back onto the toilet.

Kenny gets up from the toilet and walks past Mark out of the
stall. The toilet FLUSHES.

Kenny stops and the toilet stops. He raises his hand and it
partly FLUSHES. He waves his hand around and it FLUSHES
completely.

Kenny approaches the toilet in slow motion and it doesn’t


flush. Then he moves regular speed and it FLUSHES.

Kenny peers behind the toilet to locate the problem.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Do you have something I can use,
like a coin?

Mark looks at the coin in his hand and then hands it to


Kenny.

Kenny looks at the coin and slowly realizes it’s The Coin of
Judas.

21B MUSEUM - BATHROOM - CONTINUOUS 21B

Kenny walks out of the stall into the main bathroom area,
still staring at The Coin of Judas in his hand.

Mark looks at the toilet and waves his arm up and down,
making it FLUSH.

MARK
I think you broke the toilet,
Kenny.

A door SLAMS off camera. Kenny and Mark look.

Torch stands in the bathroom, gun drawn.

Torch sees the coin in Mark’s hand.

Kenny and Mark make eye contact with Torch.

Torch slowly approaches Kenny and Mark with his gun aimed.

Torch comes in line with the toilet, which FLUSHES.

Torch looks at the toilet flushing. He moves the gun


slightly, triggering the FLUSHER. He stops, and it stops. He
waves the gun up and down, and it FLUSHES again.

MARK (CONT'D)
Kenny broke the toilet.

Torch looks at the coin.

Torch snatches the coin from Mark’s hands, which causes the
toilet to FLUSH again.

Torch backs away.

TORCH
How did you do it?

Kenny and Mark look at him and say nothing.

TORCH (CONT'D)
Are you Mushatiq?

KENNY
What?

Torch removes his mask.

TORCH
Mushatiq. Are you with him?

Mark suddenly leaps at Torch and grabs at the coin in his


hand. Kenny grabs for Torch’s gun and it fires.

22A MUSEUM - WALL 22A

The Thieves look toward where the gunshots came from.

Seizing the opportunity, Michael grabs Thief 2’s gun and


turns it to shoot down Thief 1.

Rindy grabs Thief 1’s gun.

Thief 2 panics and run out toward the coin case.

Rindy accidentally shoots Thief 2 down.

Michael grabs Rindy’s gun from her, and moves up behind a


nearby wall.

Rindy hides behind him.

GUNSHOTS ring out from VINCE, who is up on the mezzanine in


the dark, firing at Michael.

Michael returns fire at Vince from behind the wall.

23 MUSEUM - BATHROOM 23

Kenny knocks the gun out of Torch’s hand. The gun falls on
the ground across the bathroom.

Kenny wedges Torch’s hand open, and Mark knocks the coin out
of Torch’s hand into the air.

It ricochets off a stall wall, bounces off the top of the


toilet, and lands in the middle of the toilet.

The flushing stops, and they all freeze, Mark closest to it.

Torch and Kenny glance at one another, and then down at the
gun. They start moving slowly toward the gun.

Mark slowly moves toward the coin in the toilet.

The toilet LEAKS a little, and they all freeze again. Then
Mark slowly approaches again.

Kenny and Torch continuing moving slowly toward the gun. The
two engage in a slow motion fight scene to get the gun.

Mark gets closer to the coin.

Kenny and Torch struggle, getting closer to the gun.

Mark reaches his hand into the toilet bowl.

Mark carefully removes the coin from the toilet, then stands
up triumphant to show Kenny and Torch, as the toilet FLUSHES.

Kenny and Torch hear the FLUSH and scramble for the gun. They
both grab hold of it and fire shots around the bathroom until
it runs out of ammo, barely missing Mark.

24 MUSEUM - WALL - CONTINUOUS 24

Michael FIRES up into the Mezzanine. More GUNSHOTS fire back


from the mezzanine.

Michael runs out of ammunition, and switches to the other gun


he took from Rindy.

25 MUSEUM - BATHROOM 25

Kenny and Torch fight violently.

Mark sits on the toilet, holding the coin, while the chaos
happens around him.

In one shot, the wall on his left gets destroyed, and then
Torch shoves Kenny against the mirror, breaking it.

Kenny and Torch hit each other and Torch smashes Kenny
through the bathroom wall and then through one of the stall
walls next to Mark.

Torch throws Kenny into the sink, which breaks and SPRAYS
water everywhere.

Kenny lies beaten against the wall.

Vince OPENS the door to the bathroom and walks in, gun aimed.

TORCH
Where are the others?

VINCE
They got shot.

Vince kneels down to Kenny on the ground while Torch goes to


Mark.

VINCE (CONT'D)
These guys with Mushatiq?

Torch grabs the coin from Mark and shoves him over to the
wall next to Kenny.

Torch picks up his gun and holsters it.

TORCH
I dunno. Pop ‘em just in case.

Kenny grabs a piece of broken mirror from the ground.

Vince hears a PLOP sound and looks down to see Kenny’s cell
phone. Vince takes it and hands it to Torch.

Kenny swipes his hand across Vince’s face, cutting across


Vince’s eyes with the piece of broken glass.

Vince screams out as he bleeds from his eyes and falls


forward.

Blood gets onto Kenny’s shirt. Kenny pulls Vince down.

Kenny grabs Vince’s gun, and fires it at Torch.

Torch rushes out of the bathroom.

Michael and Rindy hear GUNSHOTS from the bathroom. They wait.

Slowly Michael looks around the corner.

Torch runs through the museum, pulling his mask on.

Michael gets up and chases after Torch.

Kenny and Vince struggle with Vince’s gun.

KENNY
Mark go! Go!

Mark runs out of the bathroom, his pig slippers dragging


through Vince’s blood.

Kenny pushes Vince off, leaving him bleeding on the ground


from his eyes, screaming.

Kenny rushes out the door as Vince FIRES his gun blindly at
him.

28A MUSEUM - STAIRS - CONTINUOUS 28A

Kenny runs out of the bathroom.

Mark is sitting on the stairs.

Kenny runs past, but then runs back and grabs Mark’s arm and
drags him along.

Kenny and Mark run through the museum.

28B MUSEUM - WALL - CONTINUOUS 28B

Rindy sees Kenny and Mark run by, and runs out after them.

29 EXT. MUSEUM - REAR 29

Michael runs out the Museum back door with his gun drawn in
pursuit of Torch, but loses him.

Michael looks around frantically then runs back into the


museum.

Kenny and Mark emerge quietly from the basement doors and
exit scene.

29.5 EXT. CHURCH PARKING LOT 29.5

The VIRGIN WOMAN walks to her car with an armfull of books in


the otherwise empty parking lot.

The Virgin Woman reaches her car and tries to pull her keys
out, dropping her books in the process. Meanwhile, a large
white windowless van approaches in the distance.

The Virgin Woman picks up her books and hears the SOUND OF AN
ENGINE, but continues to desperately dig for her keys.

The van pulls up next to her and stops, the engine still
running.

Virgin Woman freezes and turns around to look at the van.


Frightened, she turns back to her car and shoves her keys
into her car door lock.

The van door flies open and three robed Knights jump out.

Before the Virgin Woman can open her door, the robed Knights
grab her and try to drag her, kicking and screaming, toward
the van.

The Virgin Woman struggles with them, so a fourth robed


Knight jumps out of the van and punches her in the stomach.

The Virgin Woman drops to the ground.

The robed Knights carry her into the van and slam the door
shut.

The van drives off away from the church.

The Virgin Woman’s keys swing back and forth, still hanging
from her unlocked car door.

30 INT. JOE’S APARTMENT COMPLEX - LATER 30

Joe’s door is shut. A hand enters frame and knocks.

The door opens to reveal Kenny and Mark, Kenny in his bloody
undershirt. Joe is wearing nothing but a Speedo.

Joe and Kenny exchange a look.

KENNY
Can we come in?

JOE
Nope, I am with a client right now.

A beat.

KENNY
Joe, we’re in some serious shit
right now.

Joe leans against his doorway.

JOE
Call the police.

KENNY
Look even if I have a good story,
they’re still gonna take Mark.

JOE
Maybe they should.

A beat.

KENNY
I don’t even have a phone.

Joe hands Kenny his phone.

Mark stands solemnly in the hallway.

Kenny looks at the phone. He thinks for a minute.

Kenny looks at Mark, then at Joe.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Does this have Latitude?

JOE
Yeah.

Kenny looks at Mark. Mark takes the phone and starts to punch
buttons.

KENNY
You got any clothes I can...

JOE
Yeah.

Joe disappears into his apartment.

Mark hands the phone back to Kenny.

MARK
I found your phone, Kenny.

Joe reappears with a grey sweatshirt and pair of jeans.

Kenny takes the sweatshirt and hands Joe back his phone.

KENNY
Thanks.

Kenny walks away quickly, pulling Mark behind him.

Joe watches them leave.

31 EXT. JOE’S APARTMENT COMPLEX - CONTINUOUS 31

Kenny and Mark exit Joe’s complex and walk away.

Rindy sits in her car in the dark, watching. She drives off
to follow them.

32 INT. MUSEUM - SECURITY ROOM - LATER 32

A security video shows video of Michael and Rindy getting


dragged away by the Thieves.

Michael and Mazzotti sit watching the video, Mazzotti out of


his suit and in a leather jacket.

Michael hits a key and the security video shows Mark walk up
to the coin case, open it with ease, and take out the coin.

The video shows Kenny and Mark run out of the Museum, and
then Rindy running after them past the empty coin case.

MAZZOTTI
Any word from her?

MICHAEL
No.

Mazzotti rubs his forehead and thinks.

MAZZOTTI
Call ‘em.
26.

Michael hesitates.

MAZZOTTI (CONT'D)
Call ‘em.

Michael pulls out his phone and searches for a number.

He comes to “Aba Zani Emirate” and selects the number.

A THUD from behind.

Michael looks down to see Mazzotti lying on the floor,


knocked out.

Michael turns around to see the attacker and his eyes widen.

33 EXT. COMPOUND - GATE - NIGHT 33

The Knights’ compound shows no signs of life from the dark


street.

Mark strolls up to the front gate nonchalantly to open the


front lock, and Kenny, sporting jeans and a grey thermal and
carrying a tool bag, quickly runs to stop Mark from getting
ahead of himself.

KENNY
(whispers) No.

Kenny pulls Mark off to the side onto the ground.

KENNY (CONT'D)
(whispers) You gotta slow down.

Kenny peeks through the fence into the compound yard. Some
light seeps from the cracks of the compound.

Kenny looks at Mark, and pulls out his buzzer alarm.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Buzzer.

Mark takes out his buzzer and pushes the red button, making
Kenny’s alarm BUZZ LOUDLY.

Kenny looks up at the locked gate and sees it’s locked with a
combination lock.

Kenny pulls an assortment of tools from his bag, finally


finding his big bolt cutters.

Kenny looks up and Mark has already taken the padlock off the
gate and holds it in his hands like a small animal.
27.

MARK
I didn’t want you to hurt it.

Kenny looks up at Mark and packs the tools back into his bag.

Kenny walks carefully up to the gate and looks inside.

KENNY
Stay here.

Kenny goes through the gate quietly, leaving Mark behind.

34 EXT. COMPOUND - PARKING LOT - CONTINUOUS 34

Kenny enters the parking lot and creeps toward the compound.

Kenny hears RUSTLING on the other side of the lot in the dark
and hides behind a car.

Kenny looks off toward where the sound came from.

Kenny exits frame.

Kenny hides in a shadow watching a body walk past.

The person is Rindy, sneaking around in the dark trying to


follow Kenny and Mark. Rindy is suddenly pulled out of frame.

Kenny grabs Rindy and holds his hand against Rindy’s mouth.

KENNY
Shh! Shut up! Quiet!

Rindy tries to stab him with a knife, but Kenny stops it with
his hand.

KENNY (CONT'D)
I saw who took it. Now he’s here.
(beat)
You need to trust me.

Kenny slowly lowers his hand from Rindy. He takes her knife,
closes it, and hands it back to her.

RINDY
Did you see what he looked like?

KENNY
Yeah, he had a scar right here.

Kenny points to his cheek below his right eye. Rindy’s eyes
go wide.
28.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Is he someone you met?

Rindy looks down.

RINDY
Briefly.

A beat.

KENNY
Do me a favor. Don’t call the
police. Just stay out here. I’m
gonna go in there and get your
coin.

Kenny looks toward the gate, but Mark’s gone.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Oh shit, Mark.

Kenny runs to the compound and leaves Rindy behind. Rindy


runs off in a different direction.

Kenny runs along the compound, looking for Mark.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Mark...

The sound of a door BANGING is heard off camera. Kenny runs


off camera.

HEADPHONES KNIGHT emerges from a nearby doorway, and steps


outside to take a quick PEE.

Kenny watches from the roof above him.

Headphones Knight finishes and goes back inside.

Kenny scopes the area from his perch and can’t see anyone, so
he heads further up the roof.

35 EXT. COMPOUND - YARD - CONTINUOUS 35

Rindy comes through a chain link fence and sees Mark walking
toward the back door of the compound.

Mark jiggles the knob and manages to open the door


effortlessly.

A pair of arms reach out from the door and grab Mark, pulling
him inside.

Rindy gasps at the sight.

HUNGRY KNIGHT comes up behind and grabs her, screaming, and


drags her away.

36 EXT. COMPOUND - ROOF 36

Kenny runs along the roof looking around.

He goes to a lip in the roof where light is shining up and


looks down.

Kenny eyes the opening and lowers himself down.

37 INT. COMPOUND 37

Kenny drops down from a dark corner in the rear of the


compound. He hustles over to a chain-link fence where he can
see the main compound room.

Two people, the flashy and self-absorbed DOMINIC and


Headphones Knight sit at a table in the main area.

Headphones Knight listens to his headphones while Dominic


snorts coke with his butterfly knife and shakes his head.

DOMINIC
Ah! Oh, oh yeah. One more, one
more. Last one. One more.

Dominic takes another snort of coke off his butterfly knife.

DOMINIC (CONT'D)
Ah yeah! Yeah, that’s it!

Dominic starts singing to himself and playing with his


butterfly knife, stabbing it between his fingers rapidly.

Dominic stares at Headphones Knight, who’s busy listening to


his music and sketching on a napkin.

DOMINIC (CONT'D)
That’s a pretty cool drawing.
(beat)
Can I see your hand?
(beat)
Just a second, I just want to see
this hand right here.

Dominic takes Headphone Knight’s hand and places it on the


table under his, spreading out the fingers.
30.

DOMINIC (CONT'D)
Spread it out like that. Real far.
Don’t want to get stabbed. (laughs)

Dominic quickly stabs his butterfly knife between Headphones


Knight’s fingers. Headphones Knight watches, worried.

The blue door behind them opens.

Dominic gets up suddenly and cuts across Headphones Knight’s


hand. Headphones Knight yells out in pain.

Torch enters, wearing an army green jacket and black pants.

Headphones Knight stands at attention holding his bleeding


hand.

TORCH
We caught someone out back.

DOMINIC
What do you mean, you caught
someone out back?

Kenny recognizes Torch.

Torch holds up Mark’s slipper. Kenny’s eyes light up.

TORCH
I think he’s retarded.

Kenny’s brow furrows in anger.

DOMINIC
Like, escaped retards just walking
around outside?

Torch looks at the slipper.

DOMINIC (CONT'D)
(mumbling) An escaped retard?

We hear the BANG of the side door opening. Hungry Knight


drags Rindy into the compound, mouth gagged and hands cuffed.

Hungry Knight stands Rindy in front of Torch. Rindy is angry.

TORCH
(to Hungry Knight)
Pull that off.

Hungry Knight pulls Rindy’s gag off.

Rindy stares angrily at Torch.


31.

RINDY
Asshole.

Torch approaches Rindy, and touches his hand to her cheek.

TORCH
You should not have come here.

Torch slaps Rindy’s cheek. Rindy gasps in anger.

Torch brings her face back up to his.

TORCH (CONT'D)
Don’t worry. We’ll get you outta
here soon, OK?

Rindy sees the piggy slipper in Torch’s hand.

RINDY
What about him?

Torch’s face hardens. He motions Hungry Knight to put Rindy’s


gag back on her.

Torch goes back toward the bloor door.

HUNGRY KNIGHT
Oh, uh, Torch?

Torch pauses at the door but doesn’t turn around.

HUNGRY KNIGHT (CONT'D)


Think maybe we could get some food?

Torch exits without saying anything.

Headphones Knight runs to the back of the compound holding


his hand.

HUNGRY KNIGHT (CONT'D)


Fucking hungry.

DOMINIC
You’re always fucking hungry.

Dominic takes a swig of his whiskey bottle.

Kenny hides under a billiard table in the back, watching


Headphones Knight wash his hand cut.

Hungry Knight sits Rindy down at the table in the main area.

Kenny looks over at the blue door and then back at Headphones
Knight.
32.

39 LAIR - CHAIN ROOM 39

2 Lair Knights drag Mark into a dark room with hanging


chains. The Virgin Woman, now in a revealing white gown, sits
handcuffed to the wall and squirms when they enter.

The Knights push Mark against the wall near the Virgin Woman
and handcuff him to it.

The Knights exit frame.

Mark swiftly unlocks the cuffs on him and drops them to the
ground.

The Virgin Woman looks at him stunned.

Mark looks at the Virgin Woman and holds out his hand.

MARK
Hi, I’m Mark.

One of the Knights hurries back over and punches Mark in the
face.

The Knight picks up the lock Mark disassembled and studies


it.

40 COMPOUND - LATER 40

Blood runs with water into a sink drain. Headphones Knight


stands over a sink rinsing his hand wound.

Rindy sits at the table in front of Dominic, scared. Dominic


looks at her with amusement.

DOMINIC
What if we had a little fun
tonight?

Dominic takes out his knife and scoops up some cocaine on the
blade, licking the loose cocaine from his fingers.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
Cocaine.

Dominic snorts the cocaine from his knife and sighs. Dominic
looks over at Rindy.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
What did you think was gonna happen
when you came here? Torch doesn’t
give a fuck about you.
33.

Dominic clears his throat and studies Rindy more.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
You don’t seem very scared.

Dominic motions to Hungry Knight.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
Take her handcuffs off.

Hungry Knight walks over and takes Rindy’s handcuffs off.


Rindy looks around nervously. Dominic slowly removes his
jacket and tosses it on the chair next to him.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
Let’s play a little game. Do your
wrists hurt?

Dominic takes Rindy’s left hand and slams it on the table,


under his own hand.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
OK. Don’t move.

Dominic starts slowly jabbing the knife at Rindy’s hand


between her fingers.

Kenny picks up a nearby billiard ball in the dark and thinks


for a moment.

Rindy watches in fear as Dominic jabs quicker.

CUT TO:

Kenny stands over Dominic wearing a baseball hat and holding


some catering trays.

KENNY
I’ve got an order from Torch.

Dominic looks up from the table, his nose covered in cocaine.


Rindy sits frozen in her seat.

Hungry Knight eyes the catering boxes eagerly.

Headphones Knight lies on the ground near the sink knocked


out next to the billiard ball.

HUNGRY KNIGHT
Oh yes!

Hungry Knight gets out his wallet and hands some cash to
Kenny.
34.

Kenny takes the cash and drops the catering dishes on the
floor.

Hungry Knight bends over to retreive the fallen food.

Kenny grabs a beer bottle from the table and smashes it over
Hungry Knight’s head.

Then Kenny grabs Dominic’s knife and stabs it through


Dominic’s hand resting on the table, and Dominic gasps in
pain.

CUT TO:

Dominic continues to jab his knife in between Rindy’s


fingers.

Kenny continues thinking in the dark.

Headphones Knight continues to wash his hand in the sink,


with his headphones on.

Kenny winds up to throw the billiard ball.

Headphones Knight knocks a cup resting on the sink onto the


ground, and bends over to fetch it.

Kenny throws the billiard ball, which misses Headphones


Knight and hits a pan behind him instead. Headphones Knight
doesn’t react.

DOMINIC
What the fuck is going on back
there?! Fucking Mickey Mouse mother
fucker, has his earphones on all
the time, can’t hear shit!

Hungry Knight walks back to the sink area to check on the


noise.

Dominic returns his attention to Rindy.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
Where were we?

Hungry Knight walks into the rear area of the compound past
Headphones Knight, who doesn’t notice him.

Hungry Knight sees the billiard ball on the ground, looks


around and bends down to pick it up.

Dominic pulls Rindy’s dress down off her shoulders and starts
caressing her skin. Dominic sneers as his hand slides down
her chest and his other hand runs his knife across her face.
35.

Hungry Knight walks over to the pool table and drops the
billiard ball into the side pocket.

Hungry Knight looks up in surprise as Kenny swings a cue


stick across his face, knocking Hungry Knight out.

Dominic looks up angrily at the noise.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
What the fuck are you doing back
there?!

Rindy snatches the pen from the table and stabs it into
Dominic’s face, which starts leaking blood.

Dominic screams in pain, pushes Rindy off him and punches her
in the face.

Dominic grabs Rindy by the throat and throws her onto the
table, strangling her.

DOMINIC (CONT'D)
What the fuck did you just do, you
stupid bitch?!

Kenny looks at Headphones Knight, who is still obliviously


washing his wounded hand in the sink, and then back towards
where Dominic is strangling Rindy.

Dominic continues strangling Rindy, who is screaming and


writhing, gasping for air.

Kenny grabs Dominic off Rindy and shoves his finger into the
hole Rindy just stabbed into Dominic’s cheek.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
Ahh! You fucking cocksucker! Ahhhh!

Rindy rips the leg off from a nearby chair.

Rindy pulls Kenny off of Dominic and prepares to strike.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
Ah, you piece of shit! I’m gonna
fucking...

Rindy swings and hits Dominic in the face with the chair leg,
knocking him out cold.

Kenny and Rindy look angrily at Dominic’s motionless body,


and then look back towards the rear area.

Headphones Knight turns around in surprise to see Kenny and


Rindy standing in front of him.
36.

Headphones Knight slowly reaches into the sink behind him for
a knife, grabbing a tiny one.

Headphones Knight hesitantly holds the tiny knife out in


front of him, and Kenny immediately grabs Headphone Knight’s
wrist.

41 COMPOUND - PARKING LOT 41

Headphones Knight walks slowly out the front door, holding a


bloody nose. He closes the door and limps away off camera.

42 COMPOUND - CONTINUOUS 42

Kenny takes out a bobby pin from Rindy’s hair and unlocks the
handcuffs off her other hand.

RINDY
Thanks.

KENNY
You alright?

RINDY
(quietly) Yeah.

Kenny turns and walks towards the blue door. Rindy follows
after him. Kenny stops short and turns back to Rindy.

KENNY
Where are you going?

RINDY
I’m going with you.

Kenny looks at Rindy and slowly nods.

Kenny opens the blue door and walks cautiously through. Rindy
follows, looking back as she closes the door behind her.

45 INT. LAIR - CHAIN ROOM 45

The Virgin Woman is chained up again. Mark is tied up with


rope instead of a lock, so he can’t escape.

MARK
This reminds me of St. Almo’s.
Except they didn’t tie me up.
(beat)
And they didn’t punch me in the
face for opening locks.
37.

The Virgin Woman looks over at Mark curiously.

MARK (CONT’D)
Bill had me break into the kitchen
to steal some jello for him. He
gave me his soap in return for the
jello. And I gave the soap to Jimmy
because Jimmy said he liked to
clean. His room was really clean.
He gave me three pills in exchange
for the soap. He gave them to me
because they made him tired and
it’s hard to clean when you’re
tired.
(beat)
Then one day Mr. Brian saw Jimmy’s
pills in my room. And he said,
“Mark, you have to tell me whenever
Jimmy gives you pills.”
(beat)
And then he put them in his pocket.

The Virgin Woman shifts uncomfortably and stares at Mark.

MARK (CONT’D)
I asked him for jello and he gave
it to me for the pills. And I gave
that jello to Bill for more soap.
And I gave the soap to Jimmy and he
gave me more pills. And then I gave
the pills to Mr. Brian for more
jello again.

VIRGIN WOMAN
What happened then?

MARK
Jimmy died because he didn’t take
his pills. Mr. Brian left, and Bill
got fat.
(beat)
I told the orderlies that Mr. Brian
and Jimmy and Bill all had things
the other wanted, and I just had to
rearrange.
(beat)
But the orderlies said that
sometimes people don’t know what’s
good for them, and that’s why they
need help.

The door to the chain room opens up. Two Knights enter and
Lair Knight 1 goes to the Virgin Woman and unlocks her.
38.

VIRGIN WOMAN
No! No! Ow!

Mark watches as the Knights drag the Virgin Woman out.

46 INT. LAIR - MAIN 46

Kenny and Rindy descend the stairs into the main lair.

They spot two Knights carrying the Virgin Woman, drugged and
half-asleep, through the main room and into a doorway that’s
covered with a curtain.

Kenny and Rindy look at each other, and then slowly descend
the rest of the way down into the main lair room.

Kenny and Rindy pause at the curtain featuring the Knights of


Judas crest, and stare at it nervously.

Then they continue on towards the far curtained doorway.

48 INT. LAIR - SACRIFICE ROOM 48

Kenny and Rindy slowly enter through the doorway curtain, and
see two Lair Knights preparing the room.

Lair Knight 1 pulls a knife from a drawer in the sacrificial


table and cleans it.

Lair Knight 2 finishes tying the Virgin Woman to the altar.

The Knights have their backs turned while preparing the


sacrifice.

Rindy looks at Kenny, and they both move silently toward the
Knights.

A CRACK and a THUD are heard, and the two Lair Knights
collapse to the floor unconscious, along with Rindy’s chair
leg now broken in half.

Kenny and Rindy drag the two Lair Knights’ bodies into a back
room and put on the Knights’ robes as disguise.

Kenny and Rindy run back to the Virgin Woman lying on the
sacrificial table, and try to revive her.

VIRGIN WOMAN
(quietly)
Mark.

Kenny’s eyes light up.


39.

KENNY
Where’s Mark?!

The Virgin Woman lies still, unconscious again.

Kenny slaps her face gently

KENNY (CONT’D)
Wake up!

Kenny and Rindy look at each other nervously.

The sound of FOOTSTEPS come from behind the door.

Kenny and Rindy exchanged panicked looks, and then pull the
robes over their heads and freeze.

The curtains part. Torch enters wearing a red ceremonial


robe.

Torch slowly approaches Kenny and Rindy standing to one side


of the table with the Virgin Woman, disguised as Knights.

Torch stops in front of the table, and holds out the Coin of
Judas in front of him.

TORCH
I return this coin which was paid
with your blood in Acra, following
your betrayal of the son of God.

Torch places the Coin of Judas carefully in the center of the


Virgin Woman’s forehead.

Torch takes the sacrificial knife in his hands, and holds it


over her body.

TORCH (CONT’D)
And accept the blood of this
virgin.

Torch lowers the sacrificial knife to the Virgin Woman’s


throat.

Kenny looks at Rindy, who has a look of horror on her face.

Kenny lunges in and grabs the blade of the sacrificial knife


in Torch’s hand, trying to stop it.

Torch looks overs at Kenny surprised, and Kenny tries to hide


his face.

Kenny’s hand starts to bleed from the sacrificial knife’s


blade.

Torch and Kenny struggle, and finally Torch pulls the


sacrificial knife through Kenny’s bleeding hand and across
the Virgin Woman’s throat, slicing it open.

Kenny winces and Rindy looks up at Torch, shocked and scared.

TORCH (CONT’D)
(looking at Rindy)
Rindy?!

Rindy grabs a nearby candle and flings the hot wax onto
Torch’s face.

Torch winces and collapses in pain.

Rindy tries to stop the bleeding from the Virgin Woman’s


neck.

Kenny grabs Rindy and the coin, and runs for the door.

Torch manages to grab the end of Kenny’s robe, pulling it off


of him.

Torch yells in anger at seeing it’s Kenny, but is too slow to


catch them.

Kenny and Rindy make a mad dash out of the room, as 4 Knights
run in from the back room and chase out after them.

49 LAIR - MAIN 49

The 4 Knights from the Sacrifice Room run into the main room
and look around for Kenny and Rindy.

The 4 Knights split up to search the different rooms.

Kenny and Rindy crouch in hiding behind some nearby crates.

Kenny catches his breath and looks at his blood-soaked hand,


shaking.

Rindy looks at Kenny.

KENNY
You need to go.

RINDY
What about Mark?

KENNY
I’ll find Mark. You already got
what you wanted.

Kenny opens his bloody hand to reveal the Coin of Judas.

Rindy takes the Coin from Kenny’s hand. Then she notices his
bloody hand and moves in to take a closer look.

Kenny feels her move in and jerks his hand away.

RINDY
Let me help you.

Kenny reluctantly opens his hand for her to look at.

Rindy winces at the sight and looks around to find a piece of


cloth to bandage up the wound on his hand.

As Rindy wraps his hand, Kenny softens and closes his hand in
hers.

Rindy pauses at the gesture and looks up at Kenny, who is


looking into her eyes.

They start to move slowly towards each other, inches away


from kissing.

One of the Knights bursts through the room past them.

The sudden noise breaks Kenny and Rindy apart, and they dive
down to hide, looking embarrassed.

Rindy looks nervously over at Kenny.

Kenny collects himself for a moment, then looks around to see


if it’s safe. He pulls Rindy up and they run off camera.

51 EXT. COMPOUND - GATE 51

A black cat runs through the street MEOWING. It hisses and


runs away as Michael’s car pulls up in front of the compound.

52 INT. MICHAEL’S CAR - CONTINUOUS 52

Michael is handcuffed to the steering wheel.

MICHAEL
We’re at the address you gave me.

Vince leans in from the backseat, his gun pointed at Michael.

VINCE
Roll down the window, and kill the
engine.

Michael rolls down his window and turns off the car.

Vince listens. STREET SOUNDS can be heard.

Vince looks back to Michael.

VINCE (CONT'D)
Now remember the deal. Kenny’s
mine, and that coin is yours.

MICHAEL
How can I trust you-

Vince smacks Michael in the head with his gun, knocking


Michael out.

53 LAIR - CHAIN ROOM 53

Mark sits still tied up with ropes.

The door opens. Dominic enters the room, face bandaged,


followed by Torch.

Torch sits down in front of Mark to talk to him.

TORCH
Did they hit you?

Mark nods. His face is bruised.

TORCH (CONT'D)
They’re like dogs, Mark. You always
have to be careful around dogs.
(beat)
Now I want to help get you out of
here. But I need to know about your
brother first.

MARK
Kenny’s my brother.

TORCH
What else can you tell me about
him?

Mark looks around and is intimidated by the men.

MARK
Kenny changed after the fire.
(beat)
When we lost mom, he couldn’t take
care of me anymore. So they sent me
to Saint Almo’s.

TORCH
(impatient)
And then what happened to Kenny?
What did he do next?

MARK
No one knows where he went or what
he did.

A beat.

TORCH
Did he tell you to take the coin
from the museum?

MARK
No.

TORCH
But he knew you wanted it. All he
had to do was leave you there.

MARK
Silver helps me remember mom.

TORCH
The only people who want this coin
are collectors, like Rindy. Or
spiritual leaders, like myself.
(beat)
The coin is powerful, Mark. And
Kenny wants it. That’s why I need
to know, is he a coin collector?
(beat)
Or is he one of the Knights?

DOMINIC
That makes no fucking sense.

TORCH
Some members are anonymous. My
superior is one of them.

DOMINIC
Mushatiq.

TORCH
He’s never been seen before.

The door CREAKS open.

Vince stands in the doorway, wearing sunglasses and gauze


behind them.

VINCE
Where is he?

TORCH
We’re looking for him. We found
this on his brother.

Torch tosses Mark’s red button to Vince, who doesn’t see it,
so it bounces off his head onto the ground.

Vince feels for Mark’s red button on the ground and picks it
up.

VINCE
I’ll find him.

Vince turns toward the door.

TORCH
I’ll go with you.

Vince looks at Torch.

VINCE
Just don’t go running off this
time.

Vince and Torch exit.

Dominic looks down at Mark in disgust.

55 LAIR - OFFICE 55

The lights come on in a dingy office. Kenny holds a connected


extension cord and throws it on the ground.

The room is illuminated, revealing newspaper articles, maps,


drawings, letters, and all kinds of media on the walls.

KENNY
Maybe there’s a floor plan in here.
We can use that to find Mark.

Rindy looks at the wall and sees photos and newspaper


clippings.
45.

Her mouth drops open and her eyes tear at the sight of some
photos of herself.

Kenny rifles through the office desk, then starts flipping


through an old journal on the desk that is filled with
scribbles about Mushatiq and the ritual involving the Coin of
Judas.

Rindy looks at some newspaper articles and photos of


Mushatiq.

RINDY
Mushatiq?

Kenny points to the old journal on the desk.

KENNY
I think that’s his boss.

Kenny looks at a command tree in the old book and sees


Mushatiq's name above Torch's.

Kenny turns the page and sees some info about the coin.

Some documentation on the “Protocol of Judas” is behind the


command tree. Kenny and Rindy read it.

KENNY (CONT'D)
Torch needs the coin so he can rise
in rank. After that he does this
ceremony and then he can take out
this Mushatiq.
(toward Mushatiq)

RINDY
But we stopped the ceremony- So he
can’t go through with it now right?

Kenny’s buzzer BUZZES. Kenny pulls the buzzer out of his


pocket and leaves it on the desk.

Kenny and Rindy run and hide.

Kenny pulls the extension cord and kills the power.

The door OPENS in the dark. Two pairs of footsteps walk


across the room. Their outlines are clearly Torch and Vince.

TORCH
I can’t see a damn thing in here.

Torch and Vince approach the buzzer and turn off the BUZZING
sound.

TORCH (CONT’D)
They’ve got to be in here
somewhere.

Kenny and Rindy sit in the dark waiting anxiously.

Rindy sees her escape route. She looks down at the coin in
her hand and thinks.

Rindy reaches for Kenny’s face in the dark, leans over and
kisses him.

She pulls away and runs out in the dark.

Kenny feel in the dark but Rindy’s gone.

We see Rindy’s silhouette run through the room and exit.

Torch runs after her to the doorway and exits.

Vince follows after him, but trips on some furniture.

Kenny runs for the exit.

Kenny and Vince collide in the dark, and Vince’s gun gets
knocked down and slides away.

Vince grabs Kenny and pulls him down. They grapple in the
dark, they can’t see, but the audience can see everything.

Vince punches at Kenny, who moves, and Vince hits the floor.

Kenny slides away and hits his head on a desk. They fight
blindly in the room.

56 LAIR - BOILER ROOM 56

Rindy enters the dim boiler room and runs down a hallway. She
trips over a toolbox on the floor and drops the Coin down a
drain.

RINDY
Oh shit!

Rindy hears FOOTSTEPS coming.

Rindy looks frantically around her and spots a knife in the


toolbox at her feet.

Torch enters from the other end of the room and moves slowly
toward her. He puts his gun down and raises his hands in the
air.

TORCH
Rindy?
(beat)
Listen. I just want to talk.

57 LAIR - OFFICE 57

Kenny and Vince struggle in the dark, throwing each other


over furniture.

Kenny runs into furniture trying to get at Vince.

Vince grabs whatever he can and throws it toward Kenny. Kenny


holds his hands up and is totally vulnerable.

Vince rushes at Kenny and swings wildly, punching Kenny hard.


Kenny defends the best he can.

Kenny takes Vince down to the ground in the dark blindly and
tries to grapple him.

Vince manages to smack Kenny into the wall, knocking down a


bookcase.

Kenny barely misses Vince’s hits and dodges as Vince jump


kicks into the table next to him.

Kenny realizes Vince’s advantage and tries to move about


silently to avoid him.

Kenny backs up away from the sound of Vince approaching, and


gently bumps into a globe.

Vince follows the sound swiftly and punches Kenny hard in the
face.

56.5 LAIR - BOILER ROOM 56.5

Torch walks slowly up to Rindy, who is standing with one arm


behind her back.

Torch stands in front of her and holds out his hand.

TORCH
Give me the coin.

Rindy jams the knife up toward Torch. Torch stops her hand
but Rindy manages to jam the knife into Torch’s wrist.

Blood drips on the ground.

Torch grimaces.

Rindy struggles against Torch, but she can’t move the knife
from Torch’s powerful grip.

TORCH (CONT’D)
What do you know about Kenny anyway
huh? Look where he’s brought you.

Rindy struggles against Torch.

Torch grabs Rindy’s neck and shoves her against the wall.

More blood drips on the ground as Rindy screams.

57.5 LAIR - OFFICE 57.5

Kenny and Vince fight it out and swing madly in the dark,
hitting things and making a mess of themselves and the room.

Vince throws Kenny into another bookcase and destroys it.

Kenny stands and the two grapple standing. Vince knees Kenny.

Kenny tries to knee Vince but Vince parries expertly.

Vince shoulder tosses Kenny into a wall, then tries to grab


Kenny, who ducks his grab and runs across the room to get
away.

Kenny runs into the desk and tumbles over it, landing on the
other side.

Vince approaches the desk slowly in the dark, feeling his way
around.

VINCE
You made this personal.

Kenny feels around next to him and finds a light bulb. He


tosses it over the desk and it CRASHES at Vince’s feet.

Vince looks down nervously, then takes a careful step. He


steps right on a piece of broken light bulb, which SNAPS.

Kenny grabs a candle lying nearby and chucks it in the


direction of the sound, knocking Vince down.

Kenny rushes up to the spot Vince landed, grabs a book of a


nearby shelf, and knocks Vince completely out.

Kenny breathes a sigh of relief and drops the book. He feels


a lump inside Vince’s coat pocket and reaches in to pull out
Mark’s buzzer button.
49.

Kenny takes it and runs out the office door in the dark.

58 LAIR - HALLWAY 58

Kenny enters the hallway and adjusts his eyes. Kenny runs
through the hallway.

59 LAIR - MAIN 59

Kenny runs into the main room. Rindy’s nowhere to be found.

Kenny fiddles with Mark’s buzzer as he looks around


frantically.

Kenny accidentally drops Mark’s buzzer on the ground, where


it breaks open.

Kenny looks down and sees a folded piece of paper lying among
the pieces that broke apart.

Kenny picks up the note and reads it.

MARK (V.O.)
Dear Kenny, I unlocked the kitchen
pantry for Bill today to get his
Jello. Then I locked it again. I
always lock it because I’m afraid
ghosts will follow me through the
door. But this time I locked Bill
in the pantry because I didn’t see
him follow me inside.

I’m sorry I locked mom in the fire.


I didn’t want ghosts to follow me
out. Mom told me in a dream that
ghosts don’t like being locked in
places either.

Kenny slowly folds the note. He lowers his head and fights
back tears.

Kenny notices a trail of blood coming from a doorway behind


him. He gets up and follows the trail.

60 LAIR - BOILER ROOM 60

Kenny enters the boiler room and finds the trail of blood
leading to a crumpled Rindy lying down against the wall.

KENNY
Oh shit.

Kenny rushes over to Rindy.

RINDY
I lost it.

KENNY
That’s okay. C’mon.

Kenny tries to make Rindy stand but she moans and can’t stand
on her own.

RINDY
I can’t.

Kenny puts Rindy down and realizes the direness of the


situation.

RINDY (CONT'D)
Do you ever get scared, Kenny?

A beat.

KENNY
When I was young, I did something
really stupid, and I ended up
losing the only woman that cared
about me.
(beat)
It was an accident.
(beat)
And I didn’t want anybody else to
get close to me again.

RINDY
Did you ever tell anybody?

Kenny nods.

KENNY
Everyone but Mark.
(beat)
I thought I could just hide it from
him.
(beat)
But now he thinks he did it.

RINDY
You have to find him. You have to
tell him.

Kenny nods.

Rindy gently touches Kenny’s face, looks up at him and goes


limp.

Kenny sits with Rindy on his lap for a moment.

Two Knights enter the room and stand at the door, looking at
Kenny.

62 LAIR - CHAIN ROOM 62

Kenny is chained up with his hands tied above his head.

Dominic punches Kenny’s face repeatedly and cursing. He stops


and looks Kenny in the face.

DOMINIC
You strike me as the kind of guy
who doesn’t really fuck a lot of
bitches. So I don’t expect you to
understand what it’s like to try
and fuck bitches with a little
asshole on my cheek!

Dominic pauses and gently feels his bandaged cheek wound.

DOMINIC (CONT'D)
She really is a bitch you know. You
should be happy she’s dead.

Beat.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
I’m gonna go get high.

Dominic shoves Kenny down onto the ground.

DOMINIC (CONT’D)
Have a fucking seat.

Dominic exits the room, leaving Kenny and Mark alone.

MARK
Hi Kenny.

KENNY
Hey.

65 LAIR - OFFICE 65

Two Knights check the wrecked office, lifting up the fall


bookcases and searching through the mess around the desk.

Four Knights prowl the main room looking for the coin.

The Knights search in the corners and everywhere where the


coin could have fallen.

66 LAIR - BOILER ROOM 66

Two Knights search the boiler room for the coin.

Rindy’s body is covered with a black cloak next to the blood


stain on the ground.

Torch stands above Rindy looking down, watching the Knights.

Torch plays with a bandage around his wrist.

Four Knights continue to search the main room for the coin.

The two Knights continue searching the wrecked office for the
coin.

Kenny and Mark are tied up facing each other.

Mark’s hands are still tied with rope, and Kenny is


handcuffed to a pipe behind him.

KENNY
You see any way out of this right
now Mark?

MARK
They tied my hands and I can’t get
out.

Kenny struggles with his ropes and can’t get free.

Kenny looks around, but his hope is fading.

KENNY
Mark. Do you remember my model
airplanes?

MARK
I remember.

KENNY
Remember it had that glue, where
you’d throw it in the fire and it’d
pop open like that?

MARK
Like a volcano.

A beat.

KENNY
On that day-
(beat)
Mark, I made a trail with that glue
out back, and uh, it must have
gotten too close to the fence, cuz
it burned the fence up, went
straight up the willow and-
(beat)
And burned the house down.

MARK
I locked the door and mom couldn’t
get out.

A beat.

KENNY
It wasn’t your fault. It’s just
something you always did.
(beat)
You didn’t do it.

MARK
Do the police know?

KENNY
Yeah.

MARK
Are they gonna take you to jail?

KENNY
They don’t put you in jail for
accidents, Mark. The- They should
have.

MARK
Why did they take me away?

KENNY
Because that’s their job. They have
to protect you. That’s what we pay
them to do. They were even supposed
to protect me.
(beat)
But I didn’t want them to. So I ran
and left you behind.

A long beat.

MARK
I didn’t want to be protected
either.
(beat)
But somebody told me that sometimes
people don’t know what’s good for
them, and that’s why they need
help.

Kenny nods.

MARK (CONT’D)
Thanks for telling me, Kenny.
(beat)
Did Rindy die because of an
accident too?

KENNY
No.
(beat)
That wasn’t an accident.

Mark hangs his head. Kenny looks around.

KENNY (CONT'D)
You sure you can’t think of
anything we can do in here?

MARK
I can’t get these ropes off.

68 LAIR - SEWER 68

Two Knights search a sewer drain for the Coin. They shine
their flashlight into the water and spot the Coin half hidden
by sewage and dirt.

66.5 LAIR - BOILER ROOM 66.5

Torch watches as the Knights continue to search for the Coin.

Torch’s radio crackles. He picks it up.

RADIO KNIGHT
Sir.

TORCH
Yeah.

RADIO KNIGHT
We found it.

TORCH
Good work.

RADIO KNIGHT
Do you need us to get another
virgin?

Torch thinks to himself for a minute, and then looks up with


an idea.

TORCH
We have one.

Torch rushes out.

67 LAIR - CHAIN ROOM 67

Kenny struggles with his handcuffs. He stops, exhausted.

The door opens, and Torch enters with one Knight.

Torch crouches next to Mark.

TORCH
Do you need to go to the bathroom?

Mark nods, confused.

Torch glances at Kenny, and starts untying Mark’s ropes.


56.

KENNY
Where are you taking him?

Torch finishes untying Mark and starts lifting him up.

TORCH
C’mon.

Mark feels his skin react on his arm to something that Torch
has on him.

MARK
You found it.

Kenny looks at Torch. Torch shoots Kenny a glance.

Kenny starts wriggling wildly in his handcuffs, as Torch


takes Mark out of the room.

KENNY
Mark!

Torch exits with Mark, leaving Knight 1 behind to watch


Kenny.

Kenny looks down at his handcuffs and notices Mark’s


remaining slipper, hidden in the shadows. He looks back up at
Knight 1.

Knight 1 looks around casually, then takes his phone out and
starts playing a mobile game.

Kenny slowly slides the slipper toward his cuffed hands. He


feels inside the slipper and pulls out Mark’s silver fork.

Kenny drops the slipper behind his back and slowly bends one
prong of the silver fork out from the others. Knight 1
doesn’t notice.

Kenny starts digging the protruding fork prong into the lock
on his handcuffs, working at the lock.

Knight 1 notices and starts to put his phone away.

Kenny works the lock a little more and clicks his handcuffs
open.

Knight 1 starts approaching Kenny.

KENNY (CONT’D)
I need to use the bathroom.

Kenny hides the bent fork behind his back, ready to strike.
57.

70 LAIR - MAIN 70

Fifteen Knights are mingling around the main room, some


talking in small groups, others playing cards at a table. All
seem to be standing around waiting for more orders.

The curtain at one end of the room starts rustling. The


Knights all slowly turn to stare at it.

Kenny emerges from under the curtain and turns to see fifteen
Knights all staring at him.

Kenny’s eyes widen.

Kenny looks around at all the Knights, then beyond them to


the doorway to the Sacrifice Room where he knows Mark has
been taken.

Kenny surveys the situation, staring intently forward,


focusing on his task.

CUT TO:

Kenny throws some punches at the Knights as they come in.

Leader Knight throws a series of attacks that Kenny blocks


and returns with a kick that knocks the Knight down.

Several other Knights attack and Kenny expertly fights them


off, knocking some of them out.

Kenny paves a clearing through the Knights until he has sight


of the Sacrifice Room door. Then he takes off running full
speed at the door.

CUT TO:

Kenny comes back to reality, and Leader Knight punches Kenny


in the face. Kenny goes down.

Leader Knight stands over Kenny, then grabs him and throws
him into the room.

The other Knights all attack Kenny at once, pummeling him


with blows and kicks.

Some Knights grab baton weapons out of the nearby cabinets


and start beating Kenny with them.

Kenny gets in a lone kick here or there, but is completely


overpowered.
58.

The Knights throw him down and dogpile over him. A mountain
of Knights quickly builds on top of him.

Inside the mountain of Knights, Kenny takes blow after blow,


and tries to think of what to do next.

CUT TO:

The Knights all start backing off of the dogpile. As the last
Knights clear away, Leader Knight is left under them all,
wheezing and coughing up blood.

Kenny appears behind the crowd of Knights, wearing a Knight’s


robe he got off the Leader Knight.

Kenny smashes one Knight over the head with a brick. He then
swiftly takes down several more.

Kenny grabs a nearby hanging chain and swings over to kick


two Knights down at once.

Kenny sees one last Knight running at him and kicks the chain
into the Knight’s face, knocking him out.

Kenny looks around him at all the knocked out Knights.

A baton strikes Kenny in the head. He looks up confused.

CUT TO:

Kenny is still in the center of the dogpile, getting badly


beaten.

Kenny grabs the Leader Knight near him and tries to shove
himself into the Leader Knight’s robe.

The Knights start to part as the Leader Knight struggles to


get Kenny out of his robe.

Kenny and the Leader Knight get up and fight each other
inside the robe.

Two more Knights grab Kenny and pull him out of the Leader
Knight’s robe.

Kenny tries to throw some big kicks at the Knights around


him, but keeps missing them.

Kenny runs and grabs the nearby hanging chain, but it drops
him to the ground.

Kenny frantically crawls into a clearing and jumps up with a


fury, scattering the approaching Knights.
59.

Kenny turns around slowly, eyeing all the Knights standing in


a circle around him.

Kenny notices a quivering shadow and turns to see Leader


Knight staring him in the face, shaking slightly.

Kenny thinks to himself, and then attacks Leader Knight,


throwing all his kicks and punches at Leader Knight.

Several Knights jump in to pull Kenny off of Leader Knight,


but Kenny just kicks them aside and continues pummeling
Leader Knight.

Kenny throws one last kick and knocks Leader Knight out.

The Knights all back off slightly, but Focus Knight 1 attacks
Kenny from behind.

Kenny turns and starts focusing his attacks on that Focus


Knight 1. He fights off other Knights who jump in, and
continues pummeling Focus Knight 1.

Kenny punches Focus Knight 1 to the ground and continues


kicking him on the ground.

Other Knights start to back off more, but one Knight


approaches and throws a sandbag at Kenny.

Kenny turns at that Knight and is hit from behind by Focus


Knight 2 with a baton.

Kenny fights Focus Knight 2, and gets the baton away from
him.

Kenny strikes Focus Knight 2 across the legs with the baton,
then grabs him in a chokehold and throws him against a metal
table nearby.

Focus Knight 2 falls to the ground limp.

Kenny stops to catch his breath and looks back at the


remaining Knights.

Kenny approaches the remaining Knights more confidently,


holding out the baton in front of him.

The remaining Knights back off slowly, looking nervously at


each other.

Kenny tosses the baton onto the floor in front of him, daring
them to do something.

There’s a pause.
60.

Focus Knight 3 looks around and then bravely dives in and


grabs the discarded baton.

We hear a loud HIT sound. Focus Knight 3 slides across the


floor to a stop and spits out blood.

The remaining Knights look at Kenny and then at each other,


and scamper away from Kenny.

Kenny turns and looks at the Sacrifice Room door. He limps


slowly across the main room toward it.

As Kenny reaches the door and opens it, Dominic appears,


flicks his cigarette butt at Kenny and kicks Kenny hard in
the chest.

Kenny stumbles backward and regains his footing, looking up


at Dominic.

Dominic saunters forward and flips open his two butterfly


knives. Kenny takes a deep breath and then puts up his dukes.

Dominic and Kenny fight it out. Kenny’s tired, but Dominic is


fired up and angry.

Dominic swipes quickly at Kenny with his knives.

Kenny dodges the first few swipes but then Dominic lands a
slice that nicks across Kenny’s chest.

Kenny winces and gathers himself, watching Dominic carefully.

Dominic attacks again, and this time Kenny is ready. He


manages to trap one of Dominic’s knives against Dominic’s leg
and grab hold of the other.

Kenny gets in a few punches at Dominic’s face and tries to


pry the one of his knives from him.

They struggle over the knives for a bit.

Kenny manages to pry one of Dominic’s knives from him.

Kenny pulls back victorious, and Dominic seizes the


opportunity to slice Kenny across his abdomen.

Kenny winces again and tries to pull himself together.

Kenny and Dominic raise up their knives and prepare to go at


it again.

They exchange frantic swipes and blows, each with a knife,


and each trying to maim the other.
61.

Dominic pulls Kenny in close, and their knives meet in the


middle, their arms locked in each other’s grip.

Dominic yells in anger and knees Kenny hard in the stomach.

Kenny doubles over and Dominic uses the advantage to throw


Kenny into a ladder leaning against the wall.

Dominic kicks away Kenny’s knife and then kicks him hard in
the face.

Dominic lunges onto Kenny with his knife, and Kenny barely
has time to put up a block to stop the knife.

Dominic puts his full force behind the knife, which is slowly
closing in on Kenny’s neck.

Dominic’s knife slowly starts piercing into Kenny’s shoulder


at the neck.

Kenny hesitates, then releases his block, letting the knife


fully sink into his shoulder.

With his free hand, Kenny reaches up and grabs Dominic’s


cheek bandage, ripping it away to reveal the pen hole.

Dominic grows scared.

Kenny digs his finger deep into the hole and pulls hard
against the wound, tearing open the skin and ripping a chunk
of flesh down from Dominic’s face.

Dominic lets go of the knife and starts screaming wildly.

Blood flows from Dominic and Kenny tears more.

Kenny throws Dominic down to the side.

Dominic holds his bleeding face, screaming and crying. Blood


streams from the open wound onto the ground.

Dominic glances up at Kenny, sobbing, in extreme pain.

Kenny breathes heavily and slowly pulls the knife out of his
shoulder.

Kenny slowly gets up, turns and enters the door into the
Sacrifice Room.

71 LAIR - SACRIFICE ROOM 71

Kenny enters the Sacrifice Room.


62.

Mark is nowhere to be seen.

TORCH
Are you him?

Torch stands at the opposite end of the room, pointing a gun


at Kenny.

Kenny walks into the room, his eyes fixated on Torch.

KENNY
Where’s Mark?

A beat.

TORCH
Every last one of my Knights is
gone thanks to you.
(beat)
Are you Mushatiq?

KENNY
Where’s Mark?

TORCH
Answer me! Are you him or not?!

A long beat.

KENNY
You can’t touch Mushatiq. Not until
you sacrifice. That’s protocol.

Torch’s eyes widen.

Kenny walks toward Torch.

Torch watches Kenny approach.

Kenny walks right up to Torch and stares him in the face.

Then Kenny swiftly grabs the gun from Torch and shoots Torch,
splattering blood onto Kenny’s face.

CUT TO:

Kenny and Torch face each other from across the room, Torch
still pointing his gun at Kenny.

Kenny walks toward Torch.

Torch watches Kenny approach.


63.

Torch shoots Kenny in the stomach, the bullet hitting Kenny’s


side. Kenny goes down.

Torch lowers his gun and approaches Kenny.

Torch stands over Kenny and rolls him over with his foot.

Kenny sits up and swings at Torch with the butterfly knife he


took from the last fight.

Torch knocks the knife out of Kenny’s hand, as Kenny kicks


the gun out of Torch’s hand.

Torch backs away quickly as Kenny gets up.

They circle around and approach each other, fists up, ready
to fight it out.

- FIGHT SCENE -

Notes: Kenny gets beat up badly but keeps going at Torch.


Torch throws Kenny up against the Sacrifice Table, dropping
Kenny to the ground in pain.

Torch looks back at Kenny, as Kenny tries to stay focused on


Torch.

TORCH
Get up Kenny.
(beat)
Think about Mark.

Mark’s hands start to poke out through the cracks in the


cupboard underneath the sacrifice table.

Kenny gets up and resumes fighting Torch. Kenny starts to get


the upper hand, until Torch cheats and spits blood in Kenny’s
face. Kenny is disoriented. Torch gives Kenny a few final
blows, dropping Kenny back to the ground in defeat.

- END OF FIGHT SCENE -

CUT TO:

Kenny lies on the ground, having just been shot in the side
by Torch.

Torch lowers his gun and approaches Kenny.

TORCH (CONT’D)
Get up Kenny.
(beat)
Think about Mark.
64.

Mark’s hands poke out through the cracks in the Sacrifice


Table.

Kenny looks over at the sacrifice table.

KENNY
(whisper) Mark.

Torch walks up and stands over Kenny, and rolls him over with
his foot.

Kenny throws his butterfly knife past Torch, who moves out of
the way to dodge it.

Torch looks back at Kenny with a smile on his face. He raises


his gun to point at Kenny.

Kenny looks past torch and smiles.

Torch’s eyes go wide as he’s STABBED in the back. Torch


bleeds from his mouth and falls forward, revealing Mark
behind him holding the bloody sacrificial knife.

Torch falls to the ground beside Kenny, spraying blood onto


Kenny’s face.

Mark looks angrily at Torch.

MARK
Leave my brother alone.

Mark looks over at Kenny and smiles.

MARK (CONT’D)
Hi Kenny.

72 EXT. COMPOUND - PARKING LOT - DAY 72

Kenny and Mark limp out of the compound into the parking lot.
The sunlight nearly blinds them.

73 EXT. COMPOUND - GATE 73

Michael’s car sits in the street, Michael asleep still


handcuffed to the steering wheel.

A cat walks across the car and meows, waking Michael.

Michael is startled to see Kenny and Mark standing outside


his window.
65.

Kenny looks to Mark, who leans in and removes Michael’s


handcuffs.

Michael stumbles out of his car and rubs his wrists.

Mark pulls out the Coin, looks at it briefly, and hands it to


Michael.

Michael straightens up at the sight of the Coin. He looks up


at Kenny and Mark.

MICHAEL
Rindy?

Kenny and Mark stand silently. Kenny gently shakes his head.

Michael looks crestfallen.

A beat.

Kenny motions to Mark, and then turns and walks away.

Mark walks up to Michael and straightens his tie, then turns


and walks away after Kenny.

Michael forlornly watches them go.

74 EXT. COMPOUND - SIDEWALK 74

Kenny stops walking and looks ahead to see Vince in the


distance, “watching” him, his eyes still bandaged.

Mark walks up beside Kenny and looks at Kenny.

Vince pauses for a minute, then turns and walks carefully


away.

Kenny turns to Mark and nods, then turns and walks away as
well.

Mark looks back at Vince briefly, then turns and follows


Kenny.

Kenny and Mark walk away down the street.

Mark starts to wander off to the side.

Kenny runs over and grabs him, guiding him around the corner
instead.
