 Personal Pronouns are used as subject of the sentence (Đại từ nhận xưng chủ ngữ
thường được sử dụng ở vị trí chủ ngữ trong câu – chủ ngữ là chủ thể của hành động (gây
ra hành động))

Example:
- I like your dress. (Tôi thích cái váy của bạn.)
- You are late. (Bạn muộn.)
- We live in England. (Chúng tôi sống ở Anh.)
- They come from London. (Họ đến từ London.)
- He is my friend. (Anh ấy là bạn của tôi.)
- She is on holiday. (Cô ấy đi nghỉ.)
- It is raining. (Trời mưa.)

 Object Pronouns are used:

+ as object of the verb and after verb. (ĐTNX tân ngữ được sử dụng như một tân ngữ
trong câu và đứng sau động từ - tân ngữ là đối tượng nhận sự tác động của hành động.)
Example:
- Can you help me please? (Bạn làm ơn có thể giúp tôi không?)
- I can see you. (Tôi có thể thấy bạn.)
- She doesn‟t like him. (Cô ấy không thích anh ấy.)
- I saw her in town today. (Tôi nhìn thấy cô ấy trong thị trấn hôm nay.)
- We saw them in town yesterday, but they didn‟t see us.

B.GRAMMAR
 Possessive Adjectives are adjectives that are used to show ownership. They come before
a noun in the sentence and lets us know to whom the noun belongs.
(TTSH là tính từ thể hiện tính chất sở hữu của người hoặc vật đối với danh từ đi sau nó.
Nó thường đứng trước danh từ trong câu.)
Example:
- My dog is big. (Chó của tôi to.)
- I think you forgot your purse. (Tôi nghĩ bạn đã quên ví.)

- Her cat is brown. (Mèo của cô ấy màu nâu.)

 Possessive Pronouns are those designating possession. They may also be used as
substitutes for noun phrases, and they are typically found at the end of a sentence or
clause.
(ĐTSH là đại từ thể hiện tính chất sở hữu. Nó được thay thế cho cụm danh từ. ĐTSH
thường đứng ở cuối câu.)
Example:
- The big dog is mine. (Con chó to là của tôi.)
- The purse is yours. (Cái ví là của bạn.)
- The brown cat is hers. (Con mèo màu nâu là của cô ấy.)
- This bat is his. (Cái vợt này là của anh ấy.)
- These shoes are theirs. (Những đôi giày này là của họ.)
- My cat likes meat. This food is its.
(Con mèo của tôi thích thịt. Đồ ăn đó là của nó.)

 Short Adjectives are: (Tính từ ngắn là:)

(Những tính từ có 2 âm tiết có chữ cái cuối cùng là –y, -le, -ow, -er)
Ex:happy, gentle, narrow, clever
 The comparative form is used to compare two things, two people, two groups of
things or people and two animals, etc

Structure
 Adjectives with one syllable: add –er or –r + than
(Khi chuyển sang so sánh với tính từ ngắn có một âm tiết thì thêm –er hoặc –r với những
tính từ kết thúc bằng –e và cộng “than”)

S1 + be + short adjective + ER + than + S2.

cold colder than
- Winter is colder than Summer.
(Mùa đông lạnh hơn mùa hè.)
nice nicer than - This dog is nicer than that dog.
(Con chó này đẹp hơn con chó kia.)

 One – syllabe adjectives that end with a consonant + a vowel + a consonant: doulble the
final letter than add –er + “than”
(Đối với những tính từ có một âm tiết kết thúc bằng 1 nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm + 1 nguyên
âm thì chúng ta nhân đôi chữ cái cuối cùng rồi thêm –er + than):
(Nguyên âm: u, e, o, a, i – Phụ âm là những chữ cái còn lại.)
- My house is bigger than Peter‟s house.

(Nhà tôi to hơn nhà Peter.)
- This cup is hotter than that cup.

 Adjectives with two syllables that end in –y:

change –y in –i and addd –er + than
(Khi chuyển sang so sánh với tính từ có hai âm tiết nhưng kết thúc bằng –y thì đổi –y
thành –i và thêm –er + than)

 Irregular Comparative Adjectives (Trường hợp đặc biệt:)

S1 + be + short adjective + ER + than + S2.

bad worse than
- This test is better than that test.
(Bài kiểm tra này tốt hơn bài kiểm tra kia.)
good better than
- That test is worse than this test.
(Bài kiểm tra kia không tốt bằng bài kiểm tra này.)
farther than - My house is farther than your house.
far
further than (Nhà tôi xa hơn nhà bạn.)

 When a comparative statement is used to answer a question, it is not neccessary to

use “than” if only one person, place or thing is mentioned.
(Khi sử dụng so sánh để trả lời câu hỏi thì không cần thiết phải sử dụng “than” nếu chúng
ta chỉ nói đển một người, một nơi hay một vật.)
Example:
- Which month is hotter, January or August?
(Tháng nào nóng hơn, tháng 1 hay tháng 8?)
August is hotter. (Tháng 8 là nóng hơn)
