Technex’19 IIT (BHU) Varanasi in association with Innovians Technologies.

On behalf of Technex’24, Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi as

the host, it gives us great pleasure to introduce IoT, a national level workshop series based on
Internet of Things. Innovians Technologies will bring students from all over the country together
to participate in the celebration of knowledge and creative extravagance along with experts from
the fields of academic as well as industry.

This time IoT Workshop will be organized by Technex’24 Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras
Hindu University), Varanasi in association with Innovians Technologies. We are looking to make
your esteemed college a Zonal Center for this event and workshop series.

It’s a global network infrastructure, linking physical and virtual objects using cloud computing, data
capture, and network communications. It allows devices to communicate with each other, access
information on the Internet, store and retrieve data, and interact with users, creating smart, pervasive and
always-connected environments.

The Internet of Things (IoT), sometimes referred to as the Internet of Objects, will change everything—
including ourselves. This may seem like a bold statement, but consider the impact the Internet already has
had on education, communication, business, science, government, and humanity. Clearly, the Internet is
one of the most important and powerful creations in all of human history.Now consider that Internet of
Things represents the next evolution of the Internet, taking a huge leap in its ability to gather, analyse,
and distribute data that we can turn into information, knowledge, and, ultimately, wisdom. In this
context, Internet of Things becomes immensely important.

About the Workshop

Can you imagine a computing concept where everyday objects have network connectivity? Is it possible
for ordinary devices to communicate among themselves?

Yes!! And the answer is ‘the Internet of Things’.

This Network of networks extracts and makes sense of data within machines. An estimated 30 million
wireless devices are to be connected to the internet by 2020.

How beautiful it is when your door can update its Facebook Status every time some one opens it. A song
starts playing when you tweet about it. A fire sensor that automatically send an E-Mail to the fire
department. Keeping all the awesomeness in mind Innovians Technologies has introduced the Internet of
things workshop to get you ready for the future.

You’ll learn the basic concepts and features of the Internet of Things and build projects utilizing the 4
NodeMCU platform. You’ll discover fundamental concepts of cloud computing, sensor reading and
connecting the NodeMCU to the Internet, wireless interfaces and Android phones. You’ll also learn to use
the most popular open platforms for managing sensor data from the NodeMCU, how to trigger actuators
remotely, and how to reprogram NodeMCU using cloud services.

Stages of Event
▪ Round 1: A Workshop will be organized at 30 different Zonal Centres/Colleges in India from Jul,
2023 to April, 2024.
▪ Round 2: A Zonal Round Competition will be organized at the Zonal Centre on 2nd day of
Workshop & two best performing team will get Certificate of Excellence.

Process Guidelines
• We want your association with us to make this workshop big success in your college.
• Date of conducting the workshop can be finalized by telephonic conversation with Coordinator/
Convener or Secretary, according to the College feasibility and slots available in our calendar.
• The entire workshop will be conducted at college campus.
• Each student participating in the workshop will get a certificate of Participation.

Workshop Requirements
• Seminar hall/classroom having a capacity enough to conduct hands-on-session for all
participants.

 • Good Quality public address system ideally two cordless mikes will be required.
• Projector/ Screen along with black/white board for teaching and presentation purposes.
• One small stereo jack cord to connect in laptop for its sound system.
• One laptop will be required per team from participants with little knowledge on C programming
language.
• One Android Smartphone will be required per team with Working Internet & Bluetooth in their
phone.
• Internet Connectivity in Seminar hall for Trainers & Participants.
• The workshop center can only be arranged for a minimum of 60 students.

Basic Requirement
• Accommodation to our visiting team members in your college guest house or any other good place.
• Pick and drop facility from nearest railway station/ bus-stand/ or airport.

• It is noteworthy that designing a IoT is best learnt in a group. Thus, the training program
would constitute formation of small groups of 4-5 students in which they would build Internet
of Things (per group).

Note: Suppose if 100 students are participating in ‘IoT Workshop’, a total of 25 teams will be
formed. Thus 25 sets each, of IoT tools and kit component will be provided by us for Hands On, i.e.
each team will receive a set of components for hands on. During the workshop session, students
will design a specific projects with the help of these components. After the workshop all the IoT
Kit Components need to be returned back to Innovians Technologies.

Course Duration
The duration of this workshop will be two consecutive days, with 6 -7 hours session each day in a total of 12
-14 Hours.

Financial Information
To coordinate with Innovians Technologies visiting delegation for this purpose as the workshop will be
delivered by them itself on behalf of Technex’24 IIT (BHU) Varanasi itself. It will be the responsibility of
Innovians Technologies to provide host with proper invoice either online or offline but payment needs to
be delivered on the first day of workshop itself otherwise no deliverables will be issued.

Innovians Technologies is authorized to collect payment from workshop and zonal center and is an official
outreach event and workshop partner of Technex’24 IIT (BHU), Varanasi. 7

Eligibility

The pre-requisite for joining this workshop is zero. Anyone who is interested for this workshop can
register it. Students from all engineering branches can participate in this workshop.

Fees
• The charge of this workshop for a participant is Rs 800 per participant (Minimum 60
Participants, Without Take Away Kit). Incase of without takeaway kits, kits will be provided for
hands-on but after the workshop it will be taken back.
• This fee include workshop training, study material, certification, and other human resources
charges. Above fees does not include GST, if college will require GST Invoice then 18% GST will be
charged extra.

Note: Suppose if 100 students are participating in ‘IoT’, a total of 20-25 teams will be formed with
4-5 Members per team. Thus 20-25 sets each, of components and IoT kit will be provided by us,
i.e. each team will receive a set of Iot Kit, Sensors, & other required components and has to be
returned to Innovians Technologies after the workshop.
