Last Sunday you and your friends spent the day at Sengkurong Farm with the help of the

map below. Write a report about your visit to the farm.

Last Sunday, my friends and I spent the day at Sengkurong Farm. It is about 5
kilometers from Bandar Seri Begawan. We went in a bus. It took just fifteen minutes to reach
there. I was excited to see the farm and the different kind of farm animals. We were welcomed
by the owner of the farm, and he took us around. First, we bought a ticket at the Ticket Booth
which is located at the farm entrance.
This organic farm was divided into sections. He told us that we were going to visit and
come to the animal farms, Seafood restaurant, the market, and a playground.
First, the owner took us to see the ostrich and the chicken farm. I learned that chickens
were raised for their eggs and meat. Chicken stops lays eggs after one or two years. The
ostriches were raised for their meat, eggs, oil and feathers.
Next, we were shown the Fish Farm. The owner led us to the Fish-Breeding project. It
was on the left of the pathway. According to him it was very important to breed fish so that the
fish stay exist. Overfishing can cause the fish to extinct. Then, we were shown the fish pond
where the fish were kept for their safety and to maintain their health. The fish pond was right
the opposite the Fish Breeding Project station.
After that, Haji Abu took us to the Duck Pond. According to him, ducks were raised both
for their meat and eggs. The salted eggs that we consume everyday are from duck eggs.
Right after taking selfies at the Duck Pond, we went back to the main pathway and turn
left at the Fish Pond. We were given a tea break at the Seafood Restaurant. All the food served
were from the farm. I took steam fish, fried ostrich egg and soy sauce lady fingers. They were
were very fresh and delicious.
After having our brunch, we got the chance to see the vegetable farm. The workers were
busy looking after the vegetables. They grew lady fingers, long bean, pak choy, chilies, and
cabbages. The vegetable farms were quite large, and we took about thirty minutes to walk
around. Haji Abu let us to pluck and took any vegetables we liked. All for free.
Finally, we went to the farm market. It was also a large market. We were informed that
the Sengkurong Farm market is the largest market in Brunei. The food items were also very
cheap compared to other markets in Brunei.
Our visit took about seven hours, and we finally went home at three o’clock. The visit
was tiring yet it was very informative. I enjoyed my trip to the farm and if I get a chance to visit
the farm again, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
