GUIDELINES and CRITERIA FOR INDIVIDUAL SINGING CONTEST

GUIDELINES:
1. All participants must be registered Girl Scouts. Only 2 participants per Division 1 for
Elementary and 1 for Secondary.
2. Each participant is given 3 - 5 minutes to perform. Entrance and exit are part of the time
allotted for the performers.
3. Each participant is to sing 1 Folk Song and 1 Christmas Carol Song. No repetition of Folk
Songs once confirmed. See attached list of Folk Songs to be performed.
4. Deadline for the registration of participants will be on November 30, 2023 using the attached
“Handog Sa Pasko 2023 Confirmation Slip”. Entries registered on the day of the event will
not be accepted and will not have the chance to perform.
5. Each participant is requested to stay in the specified areas intended for them.
6. Only Division Scouting Coordinators can confirm for their official entries.
7. Drawing lots for the performance sequence will be done at the venue.
8. Any form of accompaniment is acceptable.
9. Coaches/Trainers must be conversant with the guidelines and criteria to avoid conflict and
misunderstanding.
10. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
11. Set guidelines and criteria must be strictly observed and followed.

1. Tonal Quality - 20%

2. Mastery of the Piece - 30%

a. phrasing
b. rhythm

3. Musicianship - 30%
a. Melody
b. Rhythm

4. Stage Deportment - 10%

a. Entrance and Exit
b. Showmanship
c. Choreography
d. Costume

4. Diction - 10%
