CMFT Secures Feat over NXLed, 3-0

Choco Mucho Flying Titans clinched a straight 3 set win (12-25,22-25, 18-
25) against NXLED Chameleons in PVL Conference held at FilOil EcoOil Arena
today, February 22, 2024.
A powerful Alba-Rondina connection with Sisis’s back-row attacks ruled
over in the first set, leaving NXLED with an easy 12 points advantage. Isa Molde
delivered a service ace, closing the first set in favor of CMFT, 12-25.
While CMFT’s first set win was effortless, the second set was breath-taking as
the Chameleons nearly dominated the scoreboard. Ivy Lacsina showed off her
signature spikes, gained 4 points but on her next 2 consecutive attempts, the 6 feet
tall Opposite Hitter was denied access to the opposite court through a double block
by Tolentino and Nonag. The latter eyed an empty spot, sent off the ball thus
concluded the second set with 22-25.
Meanwhile, the NXLED Chameleons showed no retreat and were determined
to win in the third set, giving the Titans a long rally, which was then killed by Sisi
Rondina’s high-powered spike just before the Chameleons called for a technical
time-out. The reigning MVP fell short on her next attack but luck just didn't take
side with the Chameleons as errors pulled them far behind the CMFT.
Finally, Mars Alba, CMFT’s new setter was the game finisher with her quick
set. She plays in place of Deanna Wong who is still on her way to recovery at the
moment.
“Sobrang grateful kami na kami ‘yong pinili niya [Alba]. Ang bilis niya lang
maka adapt sa Sistema” Rondina said on an interview. #
