2. Tet, the Tet Festival in Viet Nam
Tet, Lunar New Year, is a big and exciting Lunar New Year celebration in Vietnam. It
takes place every year, usually in late January or early February, marking the beginning of
spring. Families gather together to remember their ancestors, share good wishes, and enjoy
special meals. The streets come alive with colorful decorations, music and dragon dances.
What I like most is the tradition of giving and receiving “li xi” (lucky money) in red
envelopes, with the meaning of bringing good luck. Tet is a fresh and hopeful start for the
new year. I really enjoy it because it's family time, traditions, and a lot of fun.
3. The things I can do to help my family
I started share the housework when I 7 years old. I usually help my family when I
have spare time, at the weekend. Firstly, I can take out the garbage, dust the room and make
my bedroom. Secondly, I also can help my mother with cooking. Finally, I do the washing
after every meals. I do these activities because I want to reduce the burden on my parents,
connect family’s members, promote relationships and family emotional bonds.
