Definisi Diare Akut
• Perubahan kondistensi menjadi lebih lembek atau cair dan atau
peningkatan frekuensi buang air besar (biasanya lebih dari 3x)

• Perubahan konsistensi dibanding biasanya lebih mengindikasikan

diare dibandingkan dengan frekuensi BAB, terutama pada bayi muda.

• Diare akut biasanya membaik dalam waktu <7 hari dan tidak melebihi
14 hari

Antibiotik Selektif
• Indikasi :
Diare berdarah (disentri) dan Kolera
Amoebiasis dan Giardiasis

• Disentri
Beri antibiotik selama 5 hari yang masih sensitif terhadap shigella
menurut pola setempat

• Adanya infeksi lain seperti pneumonia, ISK

• Indikasi adanya Salmonella gastroenteritis (usia <3 bulan),
immunocompromised, tampak toksik

diasosiasikan dengan bacterial dibandingkan dengan virus atau
