1. Organize the data from graph 1 in a chart. Then, calculate the average for each set
of data. Remember to add the proper name to each column and row (4 marks).

time glycoloysis aerobic ATP

10 sec 10% 15% 100%

30 sec 100% 15% 20%

2 min 100% 60% 0%

5 min 40% 100% 0%

2. From graph 1, Discuss which type of energy should be used by a marathoner

running the 5000mts. Is there any difference between a person running only
100mts? (4 marks).
3. For the 5000m distance the marathoner should use aerobic respiration becauseit
would be sustainable for longer distance, and for 100 meters it is required anaerobic
respiration because it doesn’t require that much effort

4. From Table 1. Graph the following data: running 1 mile, running 3 miles and
running 6 miles (4 marks).
atp lactic acid atp cp oxygen aerobic
system

1 mile 20 55 25

3 mile 10 20 70

6 mile 5 15 80

5. From the same table, identify trends, compare and contrast the data for a person
swimming 100, 200, 400, and 1500mt (4 marks).

ATP is used immediately, that affects that it is only used for short distances, the lactic acid
starts strong but for short terms but oxygen long all the distance
