Problem: “Do we need the moon?”

Abstract: the moon has a great impact on our planet, and consequently on
the lives of people (the habitants). The moon is the responsible for the
Earth’s tides. The size of the tides depends on the distance between the
earth and the moon.
Hypothesis 1: What if the moon were closer?
Hypothesis 2: What if the moon were further away?
Hypothesis 3: What if there was no moon?
Checking the hypothesis:
- Checking the 1: high waters would be higher; some cities (New
York and London) will be submerged; the earth’s rotation will be
slower and slower. In addition, if the moon were closer ay low-
lying coastline would be flooded.
- Checking the 2: we will lose the stability of the earth; Earth’s tilt
could vary wildly so we could have no tilt, which means no
seasons to a large tilt meaning extreme weather and the seasons
changed very quickly. So, we won’t have capacity to adapt
ourselves.
- Checking the 3: the moon affects and influences life, so without
the moon: tides would fall; seasons would change very quickly;
the earth of our days would change and nights would be darker.
Conclusion: all things considered, we should thank the moon because
without it we wouldn't have the conditions we have and the earth would
change a lot. After all, we should appreciate the moon more.
