Question 1
Introduction
In Nothing but the truth the characters are staying in
four room house in a place called New Brighton, Port
Elizabeth in province of Eastern Cape South Africa ,play
in the time of 2000 the new democracy so when
Thando will appear on stage with his father Sipho
Mkhanya they must be the set of kitchen and sitting
room where all their conversation usually take place
and the place be on the township, the object that are
in the written text are old stove and kettle in the
kitchen and chairs in the sitting room.
 Question 2
- In the written text the first event occurs when
Sipho received the phone call from London when
he was told about the death of his younger
brother Themba who was in exile for the longest
time, and he even thought he was long gone until
the actual time he was told about his death which
reminded him about all the bad thing Themba did
to him while he was still in South Africa and alive.
- The death of Themba forced Sipho to tell his
daughter why he was so angry with him and why
he never mentions his name before to Thando, the
reason was that Themba slept with his wife and he
caught them and he also blames him for the death
of his son Luvuyo who was shoot death while he
was in the funeral which he was invited by his
uncle Themba to attend as he was an activist
himself.
- The flashback of Sipho’s memories when he
remembered the day he finds his younger brother
in their bed performing adultery with his wife
Sindiswa, those little flashback makes the play
being short and give the reader to have the
assumption of the event as I still asked my self is
Thando the daughter of Sipho or she is Themba’s
daughter because she the same age as the year
 Themba was sleeping with Sindiswa the wife of
Sipho.

as sole playwright and was first performed in the
Market Theatre in Johannesburg.
