1. Accessibility:
Definition: Which tourist can reach the area with attraction located
❖ 3 main types:
- Road: car, bus,..
- Air: Airplane,..
- Water transport: Boat, Cruise,..
❖ Accessibility Policies:
- Entry & exit criteria
- Bi-or multi - lateral treaties
- Border liberalization
Roles:
- Essential foundation of tourism
- Creating link between regions and economic activities
- Contribute to the economic sucess of a tourist destination
- Without accessibility is of the major obstacles to tourism development.
2. Ancillary:

Definition: Ancillaries are the one that make the entire travel experience very
comfortable, safe and enjoyable.

Ex: The Channel Tunnel connecting England and France facilitates easier contact for
tourists from the two countries
_Tour Guide:

+ Introducing about culture, architecture, and history, etc

+ Appearing on tours in groups

→ Enhancing the customer experience, helping them enjoy the trip.

_Travel insurance:

+Definition: Travel insurance is a type of insurance that will cover any


unfortunate and unexpected losses that may happen during traveling either while on a
domestic trip or on an international trip.

+ The basic policies

Ex: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia waive visas for visitors from Vietnam

+ The comprehensive policies

_Travel SIM cards:

Travel SIM cards (International Sim cards) are prepaid Sim cards that can be
for specific countries or can be for many different countries.

_Foreign exchange:

+ Foreign exchange, or FOREX, is the conversion of one country's currency


into another.

+ Using forex services at the airport, banks, etc.

_Airport related service:

+ Airport hotels

+ Airport parking

+ Baggage Handling Systems


_Hotel based service:

Definition: Affordability refers to travel costs that makes tourists able to travel such
as affordability of accommodations, restaurant, air fares, services.

Kinds:

- Travel cost

- Accommodation cost

- Food & Beverage cost

- Sightseeing and activity cost

Roles:

- Cost is an important factor in deciding on a vacation.

- With affordability, visitors can enjoy themselves easily.

(Lower costs... More visitors)

- Affordable tourism packages would increase the number of tourists and bring
middle-income tourists also into the fold.

GROUP 4: THE THREE “P” IN MAJOR PULL FACTORS

I. PEACE:
❖ Definition: Peace in tourism refers to creating and maintaining a tranquil and
secure environment for travelers, free from conflict, violence, or disturbance.
Example: Tourists travel to Viet Nam to escape the war
❖ Effect:
- tourist’s choice
- feel peaceful
- limiting compensation from the host country’s government for the damage of
tourists.
II. POSITIVE - IMAGES:
Definition: it is the key element to attract tourists; in addition, positive images also
make the beautiful image of the country in the eyes of tourists.

Examples:

- VietNam has “Phở” as a traditional, a symbol dishes when we mention


about Vietnamese cuisine

- Singapore has a well reputation about its clean

Factors that contribute to creating a positive image:

+ Beautiful Scenery and Attractions

+ Cultural Richness

+ Safety and Security

+ Friendly Locals

Effects:

+ Having a huge impact on tourist's decision whether they would like to travel
to that certain country or not

+ Creating beautiful images in the eyes of tourists

+ Making tourists have a positive look with the image of a country or a


destination

III. PRO-TOURISM POLICIES:


❖ Definition: Policies that promote the develop of tourism
❖ Kinds:
- Tax-free items and tax refunds for tourists
- Visa exemption to eliminate borders to stimulate tourism
- Cooperation programs in tourism promotion
- Increase the ability to develop tourism and compete
❖ Effects:
- To pursue tourism growth or remain competiveness
- Provide safe. sastisfying, fulfilling experience for visitors.
