Tamaset L72 (English)
Tamaset L72 (English)
Tamaset L72 is an alkali-free accelerator admixture used in shotcrete where rapid setting is required. Dosage can be
varied to the desired setting and hardening times.
Uses
Tamaset L72 is for use in the wet-mix spraying process and it is for temporary and permanent shotcrete as in:
- Tunnels
- Rock support in mining
- Slope stabilization
- In poor ground conditions
- Acceleration of cementitious grouts
- Wet shotcrete mixtures
- High quality lining shotcrete
Advantages
- Alkali-free
- Liquid form so low dust emission, a better working environment and improved worker safety
- Minimum rebound
- High early strength development
- Allows thick sections to be built-up
- Excellent for overhead application
- Non-flammable
- Improved bond of shotcrete to substrate
Product Information
Technical Information
Preparation
• The substrate must be clean, damp and free from loose particles
• The dosage pump has to be thoroughly cleaned with water prior to use with different accelerators.
• If it’s not clean at all it will cause blockages in the pump system.
• Mixing Tamaset L72 with other accelerators will cause immediate clogging of pump system.
• All admixtures should be added to the concrete separately and must not be mixed together prior to addition.
• The performance of concrete containing more than one admixture must be assessed by trial mixes to ensure
that the desired combination of effects is obtained.
Dosage
• The effect of accelerator depends on the content and type of cement, as well as on the shotcrete temperature.
• When using sulphate resistant cements strength development can be slower.
• The dosage to meet a specific requirement must be determined by trials using the materials and conditions
that will be experienced on site.
• A starting point for such trials is to use a dosage within the typical range of 5–10% by weight of cement
• W/C ratio can influence the performance of accelerator admixture.
• Preferred W/C ratios are between 0.40 and 0.50
• Over dosage is not recommended, may result in decreasing final strength
Cleaning
Remove the rest of material from tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use. Cured material
can be removed mechanically.
Shelf Life
Tamaset L72 has shelf life 6 month and should be stored in closed containers at a room temperature, protected
from frost and direct sunlight.
If the product has been stocked for a long period, it is suggested to shake and homogenize it by using
mechanized stirrer and/or recirculation pumps.
Technical Support
Admixture system is a product of various kinds of repair, grouting, FRP, waterproofing and
coating/protective products specially designed and manufactured by AKI for the construction industry.
