NEET Merit List 2023 - The merit list of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET-UG, will be
prepared based on the candidate's individual scores. On the basis of their rank in the merit list,
students will be called for NEET counselling 2023. The NEET merit list 2023 will be updated here once
it is released.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releases the NEET merit list 2023 for 15% All India Quota
seats. While, the merit list for 85% state quota seats and all seats in deemed/central universities,
ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS, and JIPMER institutes will be released by respective state authorities. The
All India Rank NEET merit list 2023 by NTA includes the names of candidates, All India Rank (AIR),
NEET scores (out of 720), and qualifying status. The allotment of seats in NEET 2023 counselling will
also be done based on the NEET merit list. Thereafter, the NEET 2023 merit list will be used by state
counselling authorities to prepare the state merit list.

Based on these NEET state-wise rank lists, aspirants will be granted admission to 85% of state quota
seats and all private institutions. NTA will transfer the NEET MBBS/BDS merit list 2023 to the
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for counselling of All India Quota, deemed/central
universities, ESIC and AFMS institutes.

Next, DGHS will forward this merit list to state and Union Territories counselling authorities, and
these authorities will further prepare NEET 2023 merit list for state counsellings. NEET 2023 exam is a
national-level entrance exam that will be conducted at NEET exam centres across the 557 exam cities
of the nation. To be included in the merit list of NEET candidates must appear for the national level
entrance examination.

NEET Merit List 2023 - Cutoff

The NEET 2023 cutoff is the minimum qualifying percentile that must be secured to qualify for the
NEET medical entrance examination. Candidates will be included in the NEET 2023 merit list only if
they secure the minimum qualifying cut-off. Candidates will be allotted ranks in the NEET UG merit
list on the basis of scores that they obtain. Candidates can refer to the table below for the previous

NEET 2023 Merit List Types

The merit list of NEET 2023 mentions ranks of qualified candidates in descending order in the
entrance examination. Since candidates receive different types of ranks in NEET examination thus
the type of merit list depends on the type of rank secured. NTA will release an overall NEET merit list
2023 for all the candidates. This NEET 2023 merit list will include all the candidates who appeared for
the exam irrespective of which category they belong to or whether or not they have opted for AIQ
15% seats.

Another NEET merit list 2023 that NTA will release is the AIQ merit list, which will include the
candidates who opted for the AIQ 15% seats except those from the state of Jammu & Kashmir, as
they do not participate in the centralised counselling process. NTA will forward the data of NEET
MBBS/BDS merit list of qualified candidates to DGHS. Candidates must note that candidates’ NEET All
India Rank (AIR) will be the basis on which these ranks will be prepared. The authorities will also
release the state merit lists which will reflect state wise rank of candidates to be further used for
counselling.

NTA will release an overall merit list or NEET 2023 All India Merit List, which will include the overall
rank status of individuals among all the competing candidates. This NEET merit list will be released
ignoring the AIQ position, state, category of the medical aspirant.

NEET Rank list 2023 -All India Quota Rank

The AIQ NEET rank list 2023 will include all those candidates who are eligible for 15% seats under
AIQ, except those belonging to the state of Jammu & Kashmir. If candidates from J&K wish to opt for
AIQ seats they must sign the declaration form while filling out the NEET application form 2023. After
that, on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS will conduct counselling on the
basis of AIQ rank secured by candidates in the merit list of NEET.

NEET state wise rank list 2023

On the basis of All India Ranks secured by medical aspirants in NEET 2023 merit list, state counselling
authorities will prepare their own state-wise NEET merit lists for admission. The allotment of NEET
state merit rank to a candidate in the rank list of NEET 2023 depends on a variety of factors, like
eligibility of the candidate as per domicile requirement, etc. Considering these factors an eligible
candidate merit list for NEET counselling will be prepared.

Candidates who are not a part of this list but are fulfilling all the conditions of eligibility of a state can
fill the NEET counselling 2023 application form for that state. Once medical aspirants have filled a
state-wise NEET application form, the state will release a NEET state merit list 2023 for eligible
candidates who can take part in the counselling process. NEET UG state merit list will reflect the state
rank of candidates which will show the qualifying status of candidates among others from that state.

NEET Merit List 2023 - Tie-breaking criteria

In case two or more candidates secure same marks in the entrance examination the below-
mentioned tie-breaking criteria will be applied

• Candidates securing higher marks/percentile score in biology (botany and zoology) in NEET exam
will be given first preference.

• Candidates with higher marks/percentile score in chemistry will be given next preference.

• Followed by, candidates obtaining higher marks/percentile score in physics in the exam.
• The next preference will be given to candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted
incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects.

• Candidates with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers
in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be preferred.

• If the tie is not resolved, candidates with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect
answers and correct answers in chemistry will secure rank.

• In case tie still remains, candidates with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect
answers and correct answers in physics in the test.
