INTRODUCTION NPC

A note from your author...

This is a dark one. Are you ready, friend?

All secret societies with power use blood as

their power source. The value of blood can be
measured by “sin.” The less “sin” in the blood,
the more valuable it is to the dark critters for
trade and commerce. Therefore, the blood of a
newborn baby is worth more to the dark critters
than the blood of an old pimp.

The dark critters want us to shed innocent blood

to spite our Maker.

In exchange for blood, the dark critters offer

people riches, knowledge, and power.

What secret society members don’t know is that

when you trade with a dark critter, you always
get the short end of the stick. Every single time,
no exceptions.

But secret societies are far too blinded by their

desire for control to notice, so they sell their
eternity for a measly hundred years of fun.

Dark critters often take a form similar to the

“Nazgul” from “Lord of the Rings,” but are not
limited to this form or shape.

Some of you reading this have seen dark critters.

They’ll tell you you’re “special,” or “the chosen
one,” to stroke your ego to make you buy into
their trash offer. The truth is, they hate you, and
want you to die.

If a dark critter comes to trade with you IRL, ask

Yeshua to save you, and you will be saved.

Because He can get you out of any secret society.

Chapter 3. Fears
Now it’s time to give your secret society a fear!

What is their greatest concern?

Some secret societies are afraid their members

will leave, while other societies are afraid they
will be exposed to the public! Still other societies
are greedy, and fear losing their riches! Roll
from the tables in this section to give your secret
society a fear. You can then USE this fear to fuel
your secret society’s actions in game!

I rolled a 4 (fail to create the) for the first table,

and a 52 (kingdom) for the second table, so…

The “Covering Shade” is afraid that they will

fail to create the kingdom. The kingdom of the
“glorious” harpies? <.<

Chapter 4. Hierarchy 9 Basilisk

10 Brownie
Now it’s time to give your secret society a 11 Bugbear
hierarchy, because nothing says “secret society”
12 Centaur
like “them” and “us!” We’ll start with the
bloodlines (top dogs), then cover the ranking 13 Changeling
levels of your group. 14 Chimera
15 Cyclops
A) Bloodlines 16 Dhamphir
17 Djinn (or Genie)
For starters, let’s look at bloodlines. Most secret
18 Dragonborn
societies are arranged by whether or not you
have fallen angel blood. 19 Dryad
20 Duergar
Most of the rulers in China can trace their 21 Dwarf
ancestry back to the yellow emperor, who was 22 Eladrin
said to have fallen-angel DNA with trans-human
23 Elf
powers. This will be more common in 20-years
time, when creatures with trans-human powers 24 Fairy
become mainstream. 25 Firbolg
26 Gargoyle
In this section, we must pick three bloodlines for 27 Genasi (Air)
your secret society. The first will be the supreme
28 Genasi (Earth)
beings, who get all the benefits.
29 Genasi (Fire)
The second will be the bloodline of slaves who 30 Genasi (Water)
will do the dirty work for your secret society. 31 Giff
32 Githyanki
The third will be the bloodline your secret
33 Githzerai
society has sworn to wipe off the face of the
earth. 34 Gnome
35 Goblin
Roll 3d100 for your three bloodlines. 36 Goliath

67 Minotaur 81 (shadar-kai), and a 1 (aarakocra), which I
68 Naga think is hilarious…
69 Nymph
So the “Covering Shade” secret society favours
70 Orc the harpy bloodline, all of the leaders are
71 Owlin harpies, and you will get promoted quickly and
72 Phoenix treated well if you are a harpy.
73 Pixie
Its slave force is made up of shadar kai, which
74 Plasmoid
they treat like the scum of the earth, and they

B) Levels 45-46 Keeper

47-48 Lorekeeper
Now that we have our bloodlines in place, let’s
49-50 Luminary
build ranks for your secret society by which new
recruits can climb. 51-52 Magus
53-54 Mystic
To make this easy, we will start by placing our 55-56 Necromancer
favoured bloodline as the highest rank (harpies), 57-58 Oracle
and our slave bloodline as the lowest rank of our
59-60 Overseer
society (shadar-kai).
61-62 Paragon
Next, let’s add three ranks in between to flesh 63-64 Pathfinder
our secret society out. 65-66 Prelate
67-68 Prodigy
Roll three ranks from the list of ranks in this
69-70 Prowler
section, and insert them into your fillable

29-30 Grandmaster to organize my society ranks in the template as
31-32 Guardian follows (feel free to add a note by each name):

The ruling bloodline of the “Feathered Claw”

is the “Hexblood.” Their enslaved bloodline are
the unicorns, who they ride and subdue as pack
animals and living weapons to do their bidding

They have sworn to eradicate the Khenra (dog-

Their ranks are as follows in descending order

from most powerful to least:

1. Royals - The hexbloods

2. Harbinger - The red-right hand of the
hexbloods
3. Ritualist - The magic manipulative scientists
4. Initiate - The new hot-blooded recruits
5. Slaves - The Unicorns (treated like objects)

Will they succeed in controlling the cowboys to

That, my friend, is for you to decide.
