a the sister
b Anthony
c Cleopatra (Freya)
d the drama teacher
___/ 3
Soon, I forgot about them and was only thinking about the show. I thought it was going well, when suddenly
Cleopatra stopped and stared at me. I said a few more words and waited but Cleopatra didn’t say anything.
I looked around and saw my sister. She was holding her head in her hands. “What’s happened?” I thought.
“What have I done?” I started to speak again and Cleopatra rolled her eyes. I shrugged and continued but
Cleopatra whispered, “No!”
I looked at our drama teacher and she was slowly shaking her head. It was then I realized that I’d said Cleopatra’s
words by mistake! But what were my words? I had completely forgotten them! Everyone was sitting
in silence and waiting. They waited and they waited. Cleopatra crossed her arms. I bit my lip and started to fidget
with my hands. That’s always a bad sign. I think my brother recognized this sign. He knows me better than
anyone else in the world. I heard a tapping sound coming from the hall and then I saw my brother’s face. His
mouth was moving silently. He was trying to tell me something … the words! Of course! He knew because he’d
practiced with me!
With his help, I remembered what to say and the play continued. No one else forgot what to do or say. When it
was all over, I went to give Freya a high five. She didn’t move. She just ignored me and quickly left with her
friends, who were all laughing. I felt my face go red again. Then I saw the drama teacher. I didn’t want to see
her. I just wanted to run away and hide.
“I think that went really well!” she said warmly. “There are always a few small problems on the opening night!”
I didn’t know what to say – again. I just raised my eyebrows and tried – but failed – to smile.
