And also what is the reaction of the surrounding community about LGBT.

Some time ago, Garut was shocked by the issue of the spread of LGBT people.This incident
concerned the people of Garut.

What is the reaction of the people of Garut, especially the government, and what are the
next steps to prevent this incident from happening again?

LGBT: Abbreviation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender. An umbrella term used to
refer to the community as a whole

In Indonesia, LGBT is banned because it does not conform to religious or governmental rules

And the climax,

In 2022, a group of same-sex lovers was discussed on Facebook, whose members were
allegedly students from Garut Regency.

And the news upset everyone in Garut.So much so that there were rejections,
demonstrations and negative reactions from various elements of the Garut community.

According to the Alliance of Muslims (AUI), there are currently more than 3,000 people who
are members of the Garut LGBT community.

As the citizens continued to demonstrate, the Garut government finally moved quickly to
enact a regulation banning LGBT people, namely Perbup Number 47 of 2023, as an
implementation of anti-Maksiat, including LGBT people.
Hopefully, with this regulation from the government and the support of all the people, the
LGBT community will be stopped and can go back to being good.

Some time ago, I visited one of the Islamic boarding schools in Garut to find out how they
respond to LGBT issues.
