Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 2 – My wonderful dreams

1. Activity Description

Type of activity: Individual

With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

The student will be able to describe his current achievements using Present Perfect and
to write about his/her future goals in a mid and long-term using mixed future tenses
such as Future Simple, Be Going To, Future Continuous and Future Perfect.

The activity consists of:

Create and make a narrative text with three paragraphs about “your current
achievements and future mid-term and long-term goals”, for that, you must do the
following:

● Write about your current achievements using present perfect.


● Describe your future mid-term goals using future simple, be going to and future
continuous.
● Share your long-term goals using the future perfect tense.

Dear Student,

You must consider the following aspects to write a narrative text. It must contain
three paragraphs, as follows:

- First paragraph: Personal and professional achievements.

- Second paragraph: Short-term goals and expectations (5 years).

- Third paragraph: Long term goals and hopes (10 years or more)

Share each paragraph in the WRITING FORUM to be checked and get feedback by
your tutor.

Add comments about your e-mates’ paragraphs to exchange opinions and feedback to
correct your own narrative texts.

Follow the next steps to complete this task:

Step 1:

Write the first paragraph with your current achievements.

Write a paragraph (minimum 80 words) introducing yourself and describing your


current achievements using the present perfect tense. You must write at least 3
sentences in present perfect tense and highlight them. See Annex 1 Task 2.

Step 2:

Write the second paragraph with your mid-term goals.

Write a paragraph, minimum 100 words, explaining your future mid-term goals (5
years down the line) including examples with future simple (will), be going to and
future continuous. You must write at least one sentence with each future form and
highlight the required sentences. See Annex 1 Task 2.

Step 3:

Write the third paragraph with your long-term goals.

Write a paragraph, minimum 100 words, explaining your future long-term goals (10
years down the line) including examples with future perfect tense. You must write at
least 3 sentences with future perfect tense. Highlight those sentences. See Annex 1
Task 2.

Step 4

Self-assessment

After each student has written his/her narrative text, he/she will write a self-
assessment paragraph answering the questions. Include a minimum 50 words. See
Annex 1 Task 2.

Step 5

Final delivery - Consolidate your work.

Consolidate the information of all the stages in a PDF document and submit it to the
Evaluation Environment. The final document will be submitted individually.

● Check the agenda out to verify the opening and closing dates of the task.

In the Learning Environment, you must:

● Check out and study the Online Content (Level B2 Unit 1 from module 1 to
module 4). Enter the forum and participate in the development of individual and
collaborative tasks.

● Upload one PDF format document with all the information required. Include
bibliographic references.

A Narrative Text in which the student demonstrates his/her knowledge in the language
to express his/her achievements, plans, hopes and expectations, as follows:

1st Paragraph: Minimum 80 words introducing yourself and describing your current
achievements using the present perfect tense.

2nd Paragraph: Minimum 100 words explaining your future mid-term goals (5 years
down the line) including examples with future simple (will), be going to, and future
continuous. You must write at least one sentence with each future form.

3rd Paragraph: Minimum 100 words explaining your future long-term goals (10
years down the line) including examples with future perfect tense. You must write at
least 3 sentences with this tense.

Final Paragraph: A self-assessment paragraph about his/her performance in the


individual work for the activity’s development.

Each student must add at least a comment to all of the e-mates paragraphs to
exchange opinions and suggestions about the narrative texts.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Individual evidence, consider the following:

● Each student must share his/her individual narrative text including the specific
information for each paragraph in the writing forum

● Each student must write a self– assessment in a paragraph.

● Before submitting the requested product, students should check all the
requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

● Each student must submit the final document through the Evaluation
Environment.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.

In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
