The above table shows that growth rates of production and yield have declined for crop
groups/crops during the period of 2015 – 2016 as compared to period of 2014-2020. The
growth rate of foodgrains production declined from 74.8 per cent to 59 pre cent during
years that are approached in recent. The growth rate of production was much lower than
that of population in the latter period. Similarly, growth rate of yield of food grains gone up
59 per cent there was a declined the growth rate of production and yield for cereals, pulses,
rice, wheat.
