Children’s Birthday Party


The Boardroom is available for children’s birthday parties.

For a fee of $250 members may book a children’s birthday party.

This includes:

DI Audio box for playing music through a headphone jack.


Room set-up including tables, chairs and linen, table for crafts and games, table for buffet,
table for eating.

Food for up to 10 children including cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, chicken strips, french fries,
fresh vegetables and dip and fruit skewers.
Additional children’s food at $15 per child.

The Club will supply 10 juice boxes and a water station.


Additional juice boxes are available at $1 per box.

All other food will be ordered through our catering menus

While your guests are here there are rules to remember


1. no running in public areas
2. no playing in washroom
3. no running through patio
4. the lawn in the front of the Boardroom is for all members, not just your party
5. the Club’s dress code does not allow for ripped clothing tank tops or bare feet anywhere inside or
out.
6. children must be supervised by adults in all areas including washrooms
7. any damage to walls, chairs, tables, carpet, or excessive cleaning will be billed to the party at the
manager’s discretion.
8. the dock, parking lot (aside from parking), upper floors of the Club, parkade and east side of the
building are off limits to your party.
9. as a member of the Club you are responsible for the behaviour and safety of your guests.
10. the only food allowed in the Club for any party is a birthday cake. Please bring any candles you
require as well. Any other food or beverage including bottled drinks and juice boxes will be
purchased from the Club.

Catering Conditions at Royal Vancouver Yacht Club
A signed and dated copy of this agreement is required along with your
deposit two weeks after your tentative booking to confirm and
guarantee your reservation.

Your deposit is non-refundable.

1. Bookings may only be made by Club Members or guests sponsored by a Club member.

2. The Club reserves the right to provide an alternative function room suited to the group's
needs.

3. All food & beverage prices and items are subject to change without notice.

4. A non refundable $500 deposit will be charged at the time of your booking to guarantee the
space for Fireplace Lounge; $2000 for the Main Dining Room; $500 for Members’ Dining
Room, $300 for the entire main floor. The deposit will be applied to your final balance. If a
change of date is requested, the initial deposit is forfeit and a new deposit will be required.

5. Cancellation charges over and above the initial deposit are applicable to events cancelled
within 90 days of your function.

6. The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club does not permit outside food and beverages to be brought
to the Club. We make exceptions for celebratory cakes. Individual guests who bring outside
beverages to the Club will be asked to leave immediately or charged accordingly.

7. Due to health regulations, any food and beverage provided by the Club but not consumed
may not be removed from the Club by the customer.

8. Menu and wine must be selected three weeks prior to the function.

9. Final Numbers: the final number of banquet guests and menu choices, for those functions
providing a choice of entrée, must be provided to our catering office 72 hours prior to the
function. It is the sole responsibility of the client to provide this information to the catering
office during our normal office hours from 9 am to 5 pm.

10. The confirmed number of guests constitutes the guarantee. If the guarantee is not received
in time, we will invoice for the original number quoted or the number in
attendance, whichever is greater. Guarantees for events taking place on a Saturday, Sunday,
or Monday are required on the preceding Wednesday.

11. If less than the confirmed number of guests attends a function, the original guarantee will be
assessed. Royal Vancouver Yacht Club will set an additional 5% over the guarantee where
possible upon request.

12. All buffets require a minimum of 50 guests unless otherwise stated.

13. All functions must select one menu for all guests. Dietary concerns will be taken into
consideration. Additional charges will be incurred based on any choices.
14. If a bartender is required for a function, the minimum bar revenue required is $300. If that
is not met, a $125 charge will be applied.

15. All menu prices are exclusive of service charges and tax.

16. GST is charged on all charges, including service charges, as per Revenue Canada rules.

17. The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club reserves the right to inspect and regulate all private
parties, meetings and receptions. The Club prohibits the use of push pins, nails or tape
when hanging banners or posters. Liability for damages to the premises will be charged
accordingly for replacement value of the property damaged.

18. Non-members attending functions at the Club are not entitled to use any of the facilities
other than the private room they have booked unless they have written permission from the
General Manager of the Club.

19. Our banquet facilities are open until 1 am Monday to Saturday and 12 am on Sunday.

20. All function rooms are non-smoking areas.

21. Consumption of food and alcohol is limited to the function room booked. No allowance can
be made for smokers and beverages.

22. Any music will be confined to the function room you have rented. Written permission from
the Club’s General Manager is required to have any music in our common areas.

23. We are required to charge Socan and Resound fees to all functions with music. Fees are
based on attendance and if there is dancing. The fees range from:

Socan $22.06—$63.49 Resound $9.25—$26.63

24. The use of personal electronic devices is limited to private function rooms.

25. The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club is a non-profit private club. In order to maintain our non-
profit status we strictly prohibit the use of our name or logo in media as well as advertising
or announcements, such as radio, newspapers, flyers, posters, etc. Failure to observe this
policy may result in cancellation of your function and forfeiture of any deposit.

26. Facility and equipment rental fees will be in addition to food and beverage requirements
and at the discretion of the catering manager.

27. Performance of the agreement is contingent upon the ability of the Club to complete the
same and is subject to labour disputes or strikes, accidents, travel restrictions,
transportation, foods, beverages or supplies and other causes whether enumerated herein
or not, beyond the control of management preventing or interfering with the performance.
In no event shall Royal Vancouver Yacht Club be liable for loss of profit or other way similar
or dissimilar collateral or consequential damages based on breach of contract,
warranty, or otherwise.
