Ex17. I always tell my students to practice soloing with chord tones only to start
with. Here’s a little example of a solo using my chord tone only exercise.
Ex18. When soloing you can also try just using the key centers so you don’t have
to worry to much about the chords flying by. I call this ‘key centre mapping’.
