expansion and economic growth, the subtle balance among human activity and environmental health has
been strained. The necessity for recreational areas is evident, but the challenge lies in crafting them
without compromising the delicate coastal ecosystems. The purpose of this capstone project is to design
and develop a reclaimed sea bay park that integrates ecological and recreational balance.
Problem Statement:
In Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon, urbanization and ecological deprivation endangers coastal
ecosystems. The demand for a Reclaimed Sea Bay Park surfaces from the urgency to restore habitats
while granting recreational spaces. Balancing human pleasure with ecological conservancy is imperative,
making assimilation of ecology and recreation crucial for sustainability and community welfare.
Objective:
The objectives of this capstone project are:
1. To develop a park design that heightens environmental resilience and encourages habitat
restoration within the reclaimed sea bay area.
2. To implement sustainable design and management routines to reduce the park's environmental
impact and stimulate long-term ecological sustainability.

Introduction:

Public libraries are essential institutions for providing access to information, education, and

with disabilities (PWDs), who face various barriers in using the library facilities such as inaccessible
entrances, aisles, shelves, and counters (International Journal of Economics, Business and Management
Research, 2018). These barriers prevent PWDs, especially wheelchair users, from reaching the library
resources and equipment. Therefore, it is imperative to design public libraries that are PWD friendly,
meaning that they are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs and preferences of PWDs.

Problem Statement:

The absence of a public library in Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon, poses significant challenges
for the community such as the lack of access to information and knowledge resources that can support
education, and personal development. Therefore, a proposed design of public library that is PWD friendly
in Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon, can provide equal access to information and learning opportunities for
persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Objective:

The objective of this capstone project are:

1. To design and implement architectural features and facilities that will make the public
library entrance, aisles, shelves, and counters accessible to PWDs, especially wheelchair
users.
2. To identify potential improvements to the architectural features and facilities and make
recommendations for further development.

Methodology:

The design and implementation of the PWD friendly public library will be based on the principles
of universal design (University at Buffalo, 2024), which aim to create environments that are usable by all
people, regardless of their abilities, age, or background. Furthermore, collection of data will be conducted
to assess the needs of the PWD in the community, using surveys and interviews, to determine their preferences,
expectations, and suggestions for the public library design. Data gathered will be used to potentially improve
architectural features as well as facilities and make recommendations for further development.

Introduction:

Community spaces are vital for the social, cultural, and environmental well-being of the
residents. They provide opportunities for recreation, interaction, and civic engagement. However,
many communities lack adequate and accessible spaces that cater to the diverse needs and interests
of the people (Chirakana, 2022). This project aims to address this gap by proposing a design for a
multipurpose public park in Barangay Guinbirayan, a rural area in the province of Romblon.

Problem Statement:

Barangay Guinbirayan is one of the 25 barangays of the municipality of Santa Fe. According
to the 2015 census, it has a population of 1,467 people, mostly engaged in agriculture and fishing. The
barangay has a land area of 1,067 hectares, of which 67.5 hectares are allocated for the Agmanic-Tabugon
Eco- Park, a nature-based tourism project initiated by the local government unit (Sta. Fe Romblon
Municipal Government, 2021). However, the eco-park is still under development and has limited facilities
and activities for the residents and visitors. Moreover, the barangay lacks other community spaces that
can serve as venues for social, cultural, educational, and recreational purposes. The existing barangay hall,
for instance, is small and outdated, and does not have enough space for meetings, events, and services.
These limitations hinder the development of the barangay and the quality of life of the residents.

Objective:

The objective of this capstone project are:

1. To create a detailed architectural and engineering design for the multipurpose public park,
incorporating the following components: a playground, a sport facility, a garden, and a
parking lot
2. To evaluate the feasibility, sustainability, and impact of the project in terms of social,
economic, environmental, and cultural aspects.
3. To identify the potential improvements and recommendations for the multipurpose public
park.

Methodology:

The design and development of the public park in Barangay Guinbirayan will be based on the
identified needs, preferences, and expectations of the barangay stakeholders for the park design project.
The participatory design will incorporate the inputs and feedback of the stakeholders into the design process,
using workshops and meetings. The detailed architectural and engineering design will finalize the plans,

Parking is an essential service for urban mobility, but it also has negative impacts on the
environment, such as increasing greenhouse gas emissions, storm water runoff, and heat island effect
(Environmental Problems of Parking Lot, 2016). Therefore, there is a need to design parking facilities
that are more sustainable and resilient, using green approaches that minimize environmental footprints
and enhance social and economic benefits. The project aims to propose a green parking design for a
public parking area in Looc, Romblon.

Problem Statement:

The current asphalt parking lot in Looc, Romblon is inefficient, unsustainable, and unattractive.
It contributes to the heat island effect, storm water runoff and does not enhance the quality of life for the
community. The parking lot generates heat, due to its dark and hard surface. It also generates storm water
runoff which can carry pollutants, such as oil and chemicals, harming the environment and creates an
uncomfortable and unhealthy environment for the users and the nearby residents. The parking lot also lacks
aesthetic appeal and does not integrate well with the surrounding landscape. The proposed green parking
design can help to address these challenges and develop a more sustainable and resilient parking lot.

Objective:

The objective of this capstone project are:

1. To design and implement a green parking facility that uses permeable pavement and solar panels.
2. To evaluate the performance of the green parking design facility in terms of energy efficiency,
and environmental benefits.
3. To identify the potential improvements and recommendations for the green parking design facility.

Methodology:

The design and development of the green parking facility will be based on the use of permeable
pavement and solar panels to reduce heat generation, improve storm water management, and create a
functional parking space for users and nearby residents. The existing parking lot will be conducted to collect
baseline data and information, such as the size, layout, usage, climate, and topography. The opportunities and
constraints for the green parking design will be identified as well as the stakeholder needs and preferences.

Many drainage systems boost the chances of mosquitos breeding in the system because of the stagnant

project is to innovate the drainage infrastructure design and management in Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon.

Problem Statement:

The drainage infrastructure design and management in Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon present
significant challenges. The existing drainage systems in the area are insufficient to handle rainfall events
effectively, resulting in frequent flooding, property damage, and disruptions to daily life. Moreover,
inadequate management practices and limited resources further compound the drainage issues. These
