Star

Star is the celestial object that emits light on its own. Sun is also a star. The nearest star to the Sun is

Proxima Centauri. The distance between the Sun and “Proxima Centauri” is 4.3 light years. There

are about 5 lakh million stars present in the Milky Way Galaxy alone.

The movement of stars in the sky is a perception due to Earth’s movement.

The star with planet will have the following two characters.

1. Wobbling: The wobbling of Star is due to the gravitational force between the Star and the
planets around the star.
2. Dimming Star: The dims occasionally, as it is blocked by the planets that revolve around the
Sun.

Way Galaxy spreads across 1 lakh light years.

There are about 1 lakh million galaxies in the Universe.

Andromeda Galaxy
Andromeda Galaxy is the nearest galaxy to Milky Way Galaxy. The distance between these two galaxies is 2.2

million light years. Andromeda Galaxy can be seen as a patch of light from Earth without telescope.

Universe
Universe is the totality of known and unknown objects present throughout the space. There are about 1 lakh

million Galaxies in the Universe. Milky Way Galaxy is one of the galaxies in the universe.

Asteroid
