at Queen Mary's School Northend on
24th and 25th August 2023. The opening
ceremony was designed to set the stage for the
upcoming conference, which aimed to
encourage students' knowledge and
understanding of international affairs and

The ceremony commenced with a beautiful hymn, 'Better is One Day' alongwith the lighting of the
lamp symbolising the divine light of knowledge. A prayer on world peace was rendered, followed by
the Lord's Prayer, emphasising faith and promoting peaceful coexistence.

A symphonic rendition- ‘तुम मुझको कब तक रोकोगे’, was presented which accentuated resilience,
empowerment and determination. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Ms. Pragyan Mohanty,
General Secretary, YWCA, New Delhi, was extended a warm welcome and presented a token of
appreciation on behalf of School Management, staff and students. The seven committees
participating in the Model United Nations Conference were given a brief introduction and each

encouraged the children who are the
ambassadors of peace to work towards
harmonious relationships beyond the

Dear Esteemed Readers,

In spirit with our conference’s slogan,"Free the World of Suffering, Be

influenced by the persistent legacy of prior triumphant conferences. DIVA LAKRA
As the conference pertains to run its course, I’m eternally grateful for the opportunity of serving as
the Secretary General of QMSMUN’23. Months of diligent work, arduous efforts and innumerable

for all of us. I have no doubt that the camaraderie and conceptual frameworks made here, will
continue to reverberate and bear fruits in the days to come. I solicit all the delegates to embrace the
incentive created by the competent concerns raised throughout the conference and turn it into
concrete efforts that promote change for our future generations.

This conference was more than just a conference; it was a platform
where ideas converged, friendships blossomed, and diplomacy

Cracking the Code: Navigating the Complex Landscape of Cybercrime

In the era of digital connectivity, the battle

against cybercrime has emerged as a critical
frontier. Cybercrime, broadly defined as any
criminal activity carried out using digital
means, encompasses a wide range of
activities. From data breaches and identity
theft to hacking, phishing, and ransomware
attacks. As technology advances, so do the
methods employed by cybercriminals to
breach security systems, obtain sensitive
data, and wreak havoc.
The fight against cybercrime requires constant vigilance and innovative solutions. One of the
key challenges in combating cybercrime lies in its ever-evolving nature. As technology advances,
new avenues for cybercriminals to exploit emerge. This dynamic landscape demands continuous
adaptation of security measures and strategies. What worked yesterday may not be effective
tomorrow, as cybercriminals employ sophisticated techniques to stay ahead of the curve. Efforts
to tackle cybercrime require a multi-faceted approach. Governments, businesses, and
individuals all play a role in safeguarding digital spaces. Legislative measures and international
cooperation are crucial to address cybercrime's global nature. Moreover, businesses must invest
in robust cybersecurity infrastructure to protect sensitive data and customer information.
Individuals also need to be educated about safe online practices to minimise their vulnerability
to cyber threats.

The growing threat of cybercrime has prompted

discussions on a global scale. As the digital
landscape continues to evolve, the battle against
cybercrime will remain a paramount concern.

With each new technological advancement, the

potential for both innovative solutions and
new vulnerabilities increases. Navigating this
complex terrain requires a united effort, where
governments, businesses and individuals work
together to crack the code of cybercrime and
secure our digital future.

Cryptocurrencies: A Comprehensive Exploration

In the realm of modern economics and technology,

few sectors have garnered as much attention and
disruption as cryptocurrencies. As the digital age
continues to evolve, the impact of cryptocurrencies on
global economies and financial systems cannot be
underestimated. In this report, we embark on a
journey through the recent discussions on
cryptocurrencies, shedding light on key factors and
insights shared during the Moderated Caucus.

The Moderated Caucus featured a series of distinguished speakers, each delving into the multifaceted
aspects of cryptocurrencies. The discourse commenced with the Delegate of Malaysia, who elucidated
the trade and exchange methodologies, including the historical Barter method prevalent in the
country. Additionally, the delegate brought to light the notorious Bitcoin Scam involving a Chinese
Citizen, which invoked the legal provisions of Section 420 in their respective nation.

Following suit, the Delegate of Canada took the stage, delving into their perspective on
cryptocurrencies. Subsequently, the Delegate of Cambodia elaborated on the role of the Financial
Action Task Force (FATF) in combatting financial crimes and fostering a secure digital economy
within their nation.

The Moderated Caucus culminated with the delegates

of Equatorial Guinea and Libya sharing their
perspectives on financial integrity and accountability.
The session drew to a close with the Executive Board's
insightful observations, pinpointing the need for
distinctive analyses and innovative viewpoints to
distinguish one's stance in the midst of a sea of
discussions. In a world ever-transforming through
technology and economics, the discussions
surrounding cryptocurrencies remain as intriguing as
they are essential. As nations continue to navigate the
landscape of digital currency, these insights provide a
glimpse into the intricate tapestry of viewpoints that
shape the future of economies worldwide.

AI: Ally or Adversary?

As society advances, its appetite for innovation

grows. When John McCarthy first coined the term
"AI," he defined it as "the science and engineering of
making intelligent machines." However, today's
landscape often portrays AI's use in the context of
cyber warfare.

In recent years, AI has found applications in fields

such as cybersecurity, automotive technology, and
even in combatting the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prominent among AI's examples is ChatGPT, which
has showcased its capabilities. Yet, less visible are
instances of AI being misused, hidden away in
obscure corners of the internet, far from the public
eye.

There is no denying that AI has been exploited for

malicious purposes on numerous occasions, evident
in incidents like Stuxnet and others.

Even the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, once stated that "AI will be the ruler of the world,"
sparking debates about the extent to which AI can wield such power. The notion of AI's boundaries
raises questions: Where do these limits begin? When does AI's use cross ethical boundaries?
Conversations about limitations often point to the necessity of firm regulations.

AI occupies an uncertain position in our world. While some view it as a boon for humanity,
disregarding experts' concerns, others perceive it as a harbinger of doom. Ultimately, the perception
hinges on those who wield it and the intentions behind its use.

Nurturing Harmony: The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

Envision a world where lush forests teem with

vibrant creatures, oceans pulse with marine
vitality, and the serenity of nature saturates the
atmosphere. This breathtaking panorama isn't just
an ethereal reverie; it's a tangible aspiration
embodied in the Kunming-Montreal Global
Biodiversity Framework.

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity

Framework stands as a grand strategy unanimously
embraced by nations worldwide to safeguard
nature's riches—its diverse flora and fauna. It's a
united endeavour to preserve our environment, a
symphony of collaborative commitment.

This framework harmonises global forces, crafting imperative regulations that shield nature from
harm and pioneer resource management. Its scope spans an intricate tapestry: sustainable resource
management, combatting climate change, nurturing ecosystems, preserving nature's aesthetic
allure, while fostering global camaraderie and fostering economic prosperity. Guided by defined
targets and vigilant accountability, it compels nations to embrace sustainable practices, fostering a
transformative ripple across various sectors.

As a journalist, I resonate with the

compelling facets of this agreement.
Ecotourism emerges as a catalyst,
invigorating local economies and job
prospects within the tourism sphere.
Resilient ecosystems, replete with diverse
species, inherently curtail the need for
chemical interventions in agriculture,
providing an organic shield against
adversity.

Exploring the Intersection of Economic Empowerment
and Patriarchy
In the realm of societal dynamics, the interplay between
economic empowerment and patriarchal structures takes center
stage. This article delves into the intriguing relationship
between these two forces, shedding light on their nuances and
impacts. The dynamics between economic empowerment and
patriarchy have long been a topic of discourse. This exploration
aims to dissect their connection and understand how they
influence and shape each other within our society.

Patriarchy, an age-old societal framework, has cast its influence

on the way societies function. However, this discussion goes
beyond its definition and examines how economic
empowerment interacts with and challenges this entrenched
system.
Economic empowerment, a force that transforms the landscape
of societal roles, takes the spotlight. It presents a pathway to
reshape norms and offer solutions to pressing issues.

One such example is maternal mortality, where economic empowerment can play a pivotal role in
addressing this challenge.

Empowered women are catalysts for

transformation. They not only break barriers but
also reconstruct narratives, fostering a realm of
equality where patriarchy's grip weakens. The
stories of empowered women serve as
testimonials to this transformation.

The exploration into economic empowerment

and patriarchy leads to thought-provoking
questions. How does economic empowerment
challenge existing norms? How do these forces
interact and shape societal progress? This article
delves into these intricacies.

As we conclude this journey, it's evident that economic empowerment has the potential to reshape the
dynamics influenced by patriarchy. This exploration is a reminder that progress requires the
dismantling of conventional structures, paving the way for a more equitable future.
