General Objectives: At the end of 8 hours, Clinical area OR I will be able to:

Knowledge

● enhance the clinical skills, professional approaches, and knowledge foundation for

the practice of general surgery.

● Understand the fundamental principles and medical management that guide the

treatment of surgical patients.

● Explain the general surgical patient's principles.

● explain primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys with proficiency for the wounded

patient.

● Assess the acutely ill patient, administer initial care, and inform clinical instructor.

● demonstrate competence in the treatment of patients with surgical issues

Skills

● Communicate with patients and their families with consideration and compassion.
● Be attentive to details identify factual information that is pertinent to the clinical setting and a
reasonable attempt at a prognosis
● Effectively communicate with the medical personnel, including the general surgery team, nurses,
ward nurses, consulting doctors, residents, and medical students, and bring up pertinent
information.

● Treat patients in acaring and moral manner,showing awareness of age,gender,culture and

Specific Objectives: At the end of 8 hours__Clinical area OR I will be able to:

● To provide suitable nursing care for a particular patient

● Deliver effective management in surgical asepsis and infection control technique
● exhibiting appropriate conduct when caring for a patient with its specific surgical problem
● to communicate with my patients as simply as possible so that they may understand the
information that I have learnt from my various clinical instructors.
● To use a varied nursing technique depending on the priority of the client
DAILY PLAN OF ACTIVITIES

5:45 -6:00 am call time

6:00- 6:30 am checking of attendance,changing of scrub suit

6:30 -8:00 am Initial assessment,vital signs taking and plotting

8:00-2:00 pm waiting for assigned deck

provide necessary surgical equipments

Assist the surgeon in operating room by handling equipments

Recount equipments after surgical procedure

Do after care

2:00 pm Dismissal
