BROOKSIDE CRUSADER 17TH is an exceptionally good bull prospect. He is deep
thick and lowset and comes from a family that has done particularly well for us in the
show and sale ring through the years. The most recent, an eleven months old bull
calf out of a full sister was the top in this year’s Denver show at $1500. He was owned
by John Shuman of Deertail, Colorado and sold to William Hartley of Brewster, Kansas.
Our herd is brucellosis and TB accredited.

CONQUEST COMMANDER—You have heard us talk about the breeding ability of
the sons and da‘ughters of Shore Acres Dunrel. Here is a calf out of a daughter
of Dunrel and we are about ready to brag a little about him. Never have we had a
calf that has responded to feed any bettcr than this calf. He is really a lowset thick
package that bears down on the scales. We think he could do o good job in a lot
of herds. We have found that the blood of the Wonders blends very well with the
blood of Dunrel. Why not study this calf before you buy your next herd bull?

CONCENTRATION—It was a last minute decision to consign this bull as we fully

intended to keep him to show this fall. However in order to build the sale it takes
bulls such as this. Few bulls are as rugged and thick as this one. You'll notice he is
the result of a Willow Lee Wonder 17th daughter bred hack to the 17th. Many timies
people have said that any good sire had to have a good mother. Well we think this
calf has a wonderful mother and a great maternal grandmother. Certainly this type
of background should help gavantee his performance. He has been a great doer and
weighed over 925 at a year old, Why not drive over so we can show you the mother
and grand mother of this calf?

This is a good rugged heifer that has not been to well fitted but should do someone
some good since her, dem produces a calf every 10 months. She is bred since August 1
to Bolido Jubilee, son of Bolido Beau, the herd sire used by Ward Bricker.

WHY SHORTHORNS?
Shorthorns, the oldest and the best of the recognized beef oreeds,
have occupied a vital place in agricultural economy for almost a century
and a quarter. These good-going gentle red, white and roan cattle are
readily adaptable to the most practical farm programs. No other beef
cattle provide a greater potential for profit and pleasure. Shorthorn
bulls produce big rugged calves that set records for rate of gain. Short-
horn cows make ideal mothers. Whether you choose purebred or
commercial beef cattle, you'll find that Shorthorns are truly best in
every weigh!

a heavy or old bull. Cows or heifers sold as bred, or safe in calf, not proving to
be in calf must be reported to the seller within three months after date of sale.
Females over 14 months of age sold open, not settling within six months after
date of sale, shall be promptly reported to the seller.

4. When an animal fails to comply with the above guarantee the seller has
the option of substituting an animal of equal value to the satisfaction of the pur-
chaser, or of having the animal returned for a trial for a period not to exceed
six months. The expense of freight in such case is to be paid by the seller. If
the animal is then proved to be a breeder beyond doubt it shall be returned to
the purchaser at his expense. In case of dispute the return of the full purchase
price, without interest, to the buyer will be considered full settlement and satis-
faction of all claims. No charge for feed or maintenance shall be made by either
buyer or seller. Salvage shall go to the seller. It shall be understood that the
same guarantee given for the first animal shall likewise apply to any animal
later substituted.

5. All animals catalogued have been tested for T. B. and are clean, and have
also passed a test for Brucellosis thirty days prior to the sale, or are accompanied
by a Bangs Vaccination Certificate. Announcements will be made covering ani-
mals not clear from vaccination.

6. Certificates of registry and transfer will be furnished with each animal

sold. A signed pedigree application for unborn calves should be furnished with
bred females, showing names and record numbers of sire and dam, as well as
service date.

7. Shipment will be made as soon as possible after the close of the sale, but
at purchaser’s risk of loss or injury after animal is bid off. Where cattle are sold
at private treaty the above terms should apply as well as for sale at auction.

All prospective buyers should check health requirements of their states.

As a safeguard to prospective buyers, every animal has successfully passed a
clean abortion blood test within 30 days prior to the sale, or will have Certificates
of Bangs Calfhood Vaccination, and those that are not from Accredited herds have
passed a clean Tuberculin test within the same period. Health certificates will be
provided with each lot sold.
