The Major scientific and Technological Achievements that

happened in Mesoamerica

Mesoamerica includes the entire area of Central America from southern Mexico up to
the border of South America.
Mayan civilization
The Mayan empire centered in the tropical lowlands of what is now Guatemala
reached the peak of its power and influence around the 6th Century A.D. The Maya
excelled at agriculture, Pottery, writing calendars, and Mathematics and left behind an
astonishing amount of impressive architecture and symbolic artwork.
The Maya calendar system was complicated. “1,700 years ago, speakers of Proto-
Ch'olan the ancestor for the three-mile language that is still in use developed a
calendar of 18 20-day months plus, a set of five days” -Road Weldon lamb a retired
adjunct professor of anthropology at New Mexico state universe.
It is noted that record keeping was an important part of the Maya world and was
essential for agriculture astronomy and prophecy “by keeping records of the rainy and
dry seasons the Maya could determine the best times to plant and harvest their
crops.”
Inca civilization
Inca also spelled Inka, were South American Indians who at the time of the Spanish
Conquest in 1532 ruled an Empire that extended along the Pacific coast, and Indian
Highlands from their border of modern Ecuador to the mall River and Central Chile.
The Inca Empire was a kingdom, man developed in the Andes region of South America
and gradually grew larger through the military strength and diplomacy of their
emperors.
Well-devised Agricultural and roadway systems along with a centralized religion and
language helped maintain a cohesive State.
The Inca are today celebrated for many artistic and cultural achievements including
them architecture of which the Magnificent Fortress complex Machu Picchu is but one
example.
The Inca religion centered on a Pantheon of gods that included into a Creator God
named veracica and apple Lapu the rain God impressive signs were built throughout
the kingdom including a massive Sun temple in Costco that measured more than 1
200 feet in circumference.
Aztec civilization
The Aztec Empire was a shifting and fragile Alliance of three principal city-states the
largest and most powerful among the three was Tenotichlan, the Island City built by
the Mexico people also known as the Aztecs.
According to Aztec mythology the ancient people who settled Tenotichlan came from a
legendary land called Aztlan (hence the later adoption of the name Azteca or Aztecs)
Modern Scholars of Mesoamerica now believe that the Mexican people who built
Tenochtitlan were the last in a long migration from the parched American southwest
to the fertile Valley of Mexico the site of modern-day Mexico City.
