Sight Words Game

In this activity, students will read the high-frequency sight

word before feeding the card to the old lady.

Print the wrapper (Pg 2) to A3 paper. You may wish to

laminate for strength. Use a craft knife to cut away the black
line inside the mouth. This is where the sight word cards will
be inserted. Wrap it around a clean, empty baby formula tin.
We recommend securing with Velcro if you’d like to be able
to alternate tin wraps for different games.

This game is perfectly suited to reluctant readers. Simply

provide a selection of words a student must read and feed to
the lady. Students can see a finite end to the game, which is
encouraging for less confident readers. Provide reward
stickers upon completion of each set of cards.
