“A Hospitality Haven”: Embracing the Spirit of the Christmas

Narrator: Missy Galvez, a Tourism and Hospitality Professional found herself immersed in the
Christmas approaching. She has a shift on Christmas day, her workplace is the Haven hotel,
known for its enchanting holiday decor and warm hospitality.
As Missy stepped into the lobby with Christmas trees and sparkling lights, she was captivated by
the ambiance. The lobby at the hotel was full of guests, each guest seeking a touch of holiday
magic. Missy’s role is a front desk and concierge service.
In the midst of managing reservations and ensuring guests’ comfort, Missy discovered the true
essence of Christmas within the walls of the haven hotel. She witnessed families reuniting and
friends laughing together in the lounge and strangers becoming friends in the spirit of the
season.

Missy: Merry Christmas Guys! It's sad that we won't be spending time with our families, but
let's have fun after work.

Alec: Yes, since this is the first year that I won't be able to spend Christmas with my family.
Susan: It’s okay guys, let's enjoy our shift here since we have many guests to celebrate with.
Narrator: Missy saw a woman on the side who looked sad, then the lady took the cellphone from
her pocket and opened their album and looked at the picture of their family still together. Missy
went to the lady at her place on the side and asked about her. The lady started crying to her,
while talking and explaining what happened to their family. Missy touched by Mrs. Dela cruz’s
story, decided to organize a small Christmas garthering for her and other guests facing a similar
situation. The hotel’s staff including Alec and Susan joined in to create a gathering for those who
couldn’t be with their loved ones.

Missy: Can we make a small gathering for Ms. Dela Cruz? She's sad and it saddens me to see her
like that even though we didn't know each other.

Alec & Susan: Yeah, of course.

*Christmas Eve arrived, and the hotel at the lobby transformed into a haven of joy and
camaraderie. There are people singing merry christmas and they have bells in their hands. Mrs.
Dela Cruz, surrounded by newfound friends, experienced a Christmas she thought was lost
forever.
*As the clock struck midnight, Missy stood in the beautifully decorated lobby, reflecting on the
magical moments she had helped create. (Missy's mind suddenly came back to what happened)
*The genuine smiles and gratitude of the guests became the greatest gift she received that
christmas.*

*In the weeks that followed, Missy carried the lessons of that Christmas season, understanding
the essence of hospitality lies not only in providing exceptional service but in creating moments
of warmth and connection. The Haven Hotel’s Christmas gathering reminding everyone that in
the world of tourism and hospitality, the true magic is found in making guests feel like they
belong, especially during the holiday season.
