    Identification Requirement
    License buyers are required to provide one of the following forms
    of personal identification to purchase license items.

    Acceptable Forms of Identification (ID)


    ID Types Youths (under 18)
    • Get Outdoors (GO) ID* • Any ID in their name listed under ID types
    • State Driver’s License or ID Card • A Guardian’s ID as listed under ID types
    • Birth Certificate - select the Guardian Identity type
    • Passport
    • Military ID
    • Foreign Government Issued Photo ID
    • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

    ID’s Without Unique Numbers


    Any acceptable form of identification that does not have a unique identity number (e.g., military ID, birth
    certificates, etc.) should be entered using the first three letters of the last name and date of birth.
    Ex: TES04131977
    * A GO ID is a customer’s permanent CDFW ID number that is printed on all their Automated License Data System (ALDS) licenses.
