1 Introduction
1.1 Availability

The new 2022.2.2 release of Leica Cyclone Pegasus OFFICE, will be available for download in
MyWorld from CW11/2023 onwards.

Users with an active CCP maintenance as of November 1st, 2022, are entitled to install and run the
new software release for free.

1.2 What’s New

Leica Cyclone Pegasus OFFICE v2022.2.2 is a minor release including some new features and
improvements to the product.

In addition to the enhancements the main new features are:

 Trajectory processing datum selection

 Easy frame/image navigation with arrows
 Manual point cloud re-classification tool
 Possibility to export the image enhancements in formats LGS, E57 and JPEG

2 New Features
2.1 Trajectory processing datum selection

2.1.1 General
To support different base station, coordinate datum settings during the calculation of the trajectory
the according datum can now be selected in the Advance settings.

2.1.2 Trajectory Advanced settings – processing datum

The setting is available in the Advanced Setting page on the Trajectory tab. The Trajectory
processing datum is available to be adjusted according to the properties of the base station
downloaded from the according reference station network or the according region.

2.2 Easy frame/image navigation with arrows

2.2.1 General
The Image view inside Leica Cyclone Pegasus OFFICE now also contains arrows to navigate
forward and backwards from one frame/image to the next/previous. This concept is following the
same concept as Leica TruView.

2.2.2 Frame/Image navigation in detail

The frame/image navigation can be done using the arrows shown in the lower positions of the
frame/image window:

The forward and backwards navigation is also possible using the control key + mouse wheel!

2.3 Manual point cloud re-classification tool

2.3.1 General
In the Finalize & Export stage a new tool is added to support a manual re-classification of certain
areas of the point cloud when the classification of the point cloud was done before.

2.3.2 Manual re-classification functionality in detail

A step-by-step procedure on how to do the re-classification can be seen below:

Step Description
1. The classification of the dataset needs to be done as first step
2. After the classification is done and an area is defined which needs to be manually re-
classified – select the class which is supposed to be used!

3. To activate the manual re-classification tool, click on the plus symbol beside the class
which should be used:

4. Now the software expects to define the area which should be re-classified using the
“Road surface” class in this example. Here a polygon can be created using mouse
clicks, when closing the polygon, a confirmation message is shown:

5. After the confirmation the according point cloud area is assigned to the according
class, in this case of our example this is assigned to “Road surface”:

2.4 Possibility to export the image enhancements in formats LGS, E57 and JPEG

With this version of Leica Cyclone Pegasus OFFICE, the image enhancements done in the Finalize
& Export step are also available for the export into LGS, E57 and JPEG format.

To support this export options the image enhancement tool is now extended to use an “Apply”
button to make the changes done and available in the project database.

3 Improvements
3.1 Installation procedure - partial uninstall was not deleting a folder in Program Data

The Installation process failed when doing a partial uninstall because a certain folder was not
deleted inside the Program data folder. This is fixed in this version.

3.2 Restore/Clone raw dataset and Backup.zip issues fixed.

When the dataset is opened for the first time in CYP, a backup of the project database along with
some other files are copied into a backup.zip, and this backup is used for those tools
“Restore/Clone”.
These tools would make the database corrupt if the dataset was opened the first time with a CYP
version older than the previous official release (v2022.2.1) because the backup.zip was not created
correctly.
This version here (v2022.2.2) is blocking the use of such tools if the project was opened previously
in an older Pegasus Office version.

3.3 Trajectory display was shifted in the base map view when used in China

If the Mobile Mapping system was used in China, the trajectory was displayed at a wrong location
inside the base map. This is fixed in this version.

3.4 Multiple jobs, errors fixed when not processing all the jobs in the project

When processing a subset of jobs inside a project, for instance 2 of 3 available and then run the
automatic link detection, the process was failing because of missing 3rd trajectory.

This behaviour is fixed in this version.

3.5 Automatic Control Point Detection, 50% faster and more accurate and reproducible results

The automatic control point detection was enhanced in speed and the accuracy as well as the
reproducibility was improved.

3.6 Link list issues fixed with multiple Bundles in the same project

In some dedicated projects where, multiple bundles are contained, bundles have been deselected
if manual links have been created. This behaviour is fixed in this version.

3.7 JPEG export of portrait images saved in portrait orientation

Images exported in JPEG format, which have been captured in the portrait orientation where still
exported in landscape orientation. With this version the images are stored in portrait orientation if
captured like this.

3.8 JPEG export, internal orientation parameters export in .txt format was missing

Internal orientation parameters for each of the cameras was missing when doing a JPEG export.
This is fixed in this version.

3.9 RGB colorisation 20-25% faster

The RGB colorisation was improved to be 20-25% faster.

3.10 Several other minor user experience improvements and interface and text fixes

In this release we included several user experience improvements also addressing interface and
text enhancements as well as stability improvements.

4 Important Notes
4.1 Note on PC-GPU requirements

The Image anonymisation and the point cloud classification is fully dependent of the used hardware
of the according PC. If the graphics card requirement does not match the process is stopped with a
notification:

The graphics card computing capability need to be 7.5 or higher – compare the listed computing
capabilities for each Nvidia chipset here:

4.2 Compatibility

With the 2022.2.2 release, Leica Cyclone Pegasus OFFICE is supporting the minimum versions of
the following Hexagon/Leica software products:

• Infinity v3.4.2
• Inertial Explorer SDK 8.9
• CLM 2.5.2

4.3 Support of Virtual machines

Please note that running the software on virtual machines is not supported.
