Reading Comprehension (Story)

Grade 3
Once upon a time, there was a village carpenter
who made the most beautiful and intricate wooden
toys. It is said that his toys were so special
because they were infused with magic.
The carpenter himself was a very kind and
gentle man, and he always made sure to
gift his toys to the village children on their
birthdays.

One day, news spread that the king

was coming to visit the village. The carpenter was very excited at the
prospect of meeting the king and showing him his magical toys. However,
when the king arrived, he was not interested in the carpenter's toys at all.
In fact, he demanded that the carpenter make a new toy for his own child.

The carpenter had never made a toy for anyone other than the village
children, but he didn't want to disappoint the king. So, he set to work and
created the most beautiful and magical toy the king had ever seen. The
king was so pleased with the toy that he rewarded the carpenter
handsomely.
