"Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he sha sustain thee:
Dear Friends, he shall never suffer the righteous tobe moved." Psalm 55:22
College - Commit Thou to Faithful Men! Growing men to the degree where they are “fit for the ministry”
isa challenge, and with modern-day Christianity, it seems to be an increasing one. Recently, while at a
Caribbean Baptist preachers conference, | saw nearly forty pastors stand up, with only three being under
the age of 40. It seems there is a dearth of young men following God's call for their life, and it reminds us
to be diligent in training those that are willing to listen to His voice. | am very thankful that missionary
Matt Bernsdorff answered the call to lead the Charity Baptist Bible College here in Trinidad. He has taken
the Bible College to a level that has not been seen on this island and has a vision for continuing to move
forward in this vital ministry. This semester there are close to forty-five students enrolled in six different
classes, What fun it is to see them thrive with a hunger for the WORK and to watch the WORD transform
their lives and ministries!
Christmas - The Christmas season is always a great opportunity to get the good news of Christ out in our
city. What a joy it was to see people saved in the youth programs and Christmas service, as well as Old-
Years-Night Service. A Hindu man, a brother of one of our church leaders, came to church for the first
time on Old-Years-Night. His brother had been witnessing to him, and when the invitation was given his
hand went up —he knew he was lost. We thank the Lord he got saved that night because only last week
he passed away. What a joy to know he isin heaven!»
Conferences - In January we went from preaching in
the West Indies Baptist Fellowship to the very next
week having our annual missions conference. It is
always a blessing to see people's faith increase
through missions giving, but this year it was also fun to
watch over 100 people dress up representing different
parts of the world and be reminded about the great
need to reach cultures other than their own.
Cooperation - Last Sunday, after morning
services, the three churches we have had a
part in starting came together at a camp to
hold a combined second Sunday service and
to baptize 23 people in the camp pool.
Afterwards, everyone had a great day of
fellowship on the sports fields. The churches
also came together during the Carnival
Monday and Tuesday and again enjoyed being
together at a rented gym, away from the worldly behavior of Carnival. Thank you for your grace with this
prayer letter; our family has been sick this past month and it interfered with our mailing.
