Tourist: Excuse me. I am trying to decide which beach to visit here in Dominican
Republic. Would you be able to give me some advice?
Local: Hi! Welcome to the Dominican Republic! I can definitely give you some
suggestions for what beaches you can visit in this beautiful country.

Tourist: You are very kind. I am looking for beaches that are good for swimming
peacefully. I do not like huge waves. Can you tell me about places that are
mainly for swimming?

Local: I understand what you are saying. I personally do not like beaches with big
waves either. My suggestions would be for you to visit Cabarete and Playa
Dorada. These beaches are pretty touristy, but they are spectacular.

Tourist: These beaches sound amazing. I will do my best to visit them. What about
mountains in the Dominican Republic. What suggestions would you have for
visiting breathtaking mountains?

Local: You must go to Pico Duarte. It is the highest peak in the Dominican
Republic and all the Caribbean islands. It is a beautiful hike if you feel
physically prepared for it.

Tourist: How exciting! I love hiking and visiting breathtaking mountains. What about
lagoons? Are there any lagoons worth visiting?

My Travel Blog

Traveling is my passion! I am originally from Dajabón in the Dominican Republic, and I love
traveling around my country. Most recently, I traveled to the Samaná region, and I
absolutely loved it. There are amazingly beautiful places to visit in Samaná. I started my
trip in the breathtaking beach of Cosón. People say that Julio Iglesias wrote the song
“Agua dulce, agua salá” based on Cosón. Afterwards, I visited playa Bonita, which was
spectacular because it does not have huge waves, and it is perfect for swimming. I also had
time to go to playa Las Ballenas. This is a perfect spot for relaxing and spending time with
family and friends. It was simply lovely. Finally, I made it to Portillo, a beach decorated with
beautiful palm trees and amazing scenery. I fell in love with all these beaches in Samaná
and most importantly loved the food and people from this region. If you have not been to
Samaná, you must go!
