DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS

A demonstrative pronoun is a pronoun used to demonstrate any object or


something or to point to something in a sentence. It is also used in place of
nouns, noun phrases, or situations.

These pronouns are either singular or plural, they are used to indicate and
describe people, animals, places, substances, items, or things, in space and
time. It is also used to point out specific objects which are placed
somewhere.

This, that, these, those, are demonstrative pronouns.

This = este, isto, isso,


That = aquele, aquela
These = estes, esses
Those = aqueles, aquelas

Demonstrative pronoun:

This is my house.
That building is a police headquarters.
These are my uncle cars.
Those are the passengers.
This is not a simple joke.
God helps those who help others.
This is my native village.
That car looks like a brand-new Ferrari.
These are lovely flowers, but they are artificial.
This was my brother’s book collection.
That car is one of my favourite cars.
You have never imagined this in your career.
That bike looks like a Harley Davidson.
