Senator Risa Hontiveros impulse DFA AND DMW to pre-position

Necessary resources for the swift implementation of contingency plan to ensure the
safety and well- being of Filipino Nationals in Israel and Gaza.

Senator Hontiveros said that prompt implementation of contingency plan will give
assurance to both families of killed OFWs. From the released presss report, senator
Hontiveros said” prompt implementation will undoubtedly provide much needed
reassurance to both OFWs and their families back home.

Moreover, she committed to work closely with DFA, DMW and other relevant
government agencies to help and ensure the safe return of all our OFWs near the
conflict area.

Lastly, Senator Risa said that facing this tragedy, everyone must stand united as a
nation and support our OFWs without complacency, or delay.
Gaza-Israel Conflict escalates; Solon urges, repatriation plan

Senator Risa Hontiveros pushed the Department of Foreign Affairs ( DFA ) and
the Department of Migrant Workers ( DMW ) for a swift implementation of an effective
contingency plan by pre-positioning available resources to ensure safe passage of the
Filipino Migrant Workers out of the conflict areas in Gaza and in Israel in case the
violence there extends beyond borders.
“I strongly urge DFA and DMW to make resources that readily available for
implementation as part of the contingency plan to ensure safety passage ang well-being
of the Filipinos in Gaza and in Israel”, Hontiveros emphasized.
The senator emphasized that prompt implementation of the contingency plan will
provide these Filipino Migrants and their families back home. A reassurance that they
are safe as the conflict intensifies.
“Napakakumplikado ng giyerang ito. Sana agad na maipaalam ang plano ng
gobyerno for both short- and long-term scenarios para mapaghandaaan lalo na sa
ongoing budget process,” the senator explained in Flipino.
Moreover, Hontiveros prods government to charter flights and buses; hire
additional security personnel; provide adequate medical humanitarian aid and free legal
services to our compatriots. The senator commits herself to work with the DFA, DMW
and other relevant agencies for their safe return.
