Course Description:
This course examines the political, economic, and
social factors that shape the development trajectories
of nations. It provides students with a comprehensive
understanding of the theories, concepts, and empirical
evidence relevant to comparative political economy
and development.
Through a comparative lens, the course explores
various models of development, the role of
institutions, state-society relations, globalization, and
the impact of economic policies on development
outcomes. Additionally, it analyzes the challenges and
opportunities faced by countries in the Global South
and examines contemporary debates in the field.

comparative political economy and development.
