Chemical Cutter Pre Run Checklist

This checklist is the summary taken from Chammas Chemical Cutter Manual (D00971775)

1. Upon arrival in field, check and do physical inventory of chemical cutter (CHC) to have all parts
complete as per initial inventory in base prior to shipment.
Note: Follow 5.5” Chemical cutter diagram in manual for detail of parts in string.
2. Check explosive detonator/igniter inventory for CHC run to ensure compatibility with the hardware
also the gas grain generator inventory in explosive bunker.
3. Explosive for Indonesia operation will use 2 options below (RED Thermal Igniter)
P/N Description
102351326 IGN,THRM IGN,RED®, GO STYLE, 1.0G (Main)
101320910 IGN,THRM IGN,RED®, GO STYLE, 1.06G (Backup)
4. Tool preparation before assembly
• For new parts, remove oil residue with a degreaser
• For used parts, inspect all parts for any defect/crack, brush all threads and sealing surfaces,
clean gas generator sub from any rust, clean anchor body gas orifice (no restriction), polish
anchor body cavities and inspected with T go/nogo gages.
5. Assemble Gas Generator Sub (GGS) with Igniter sub.
Complete all O ring in place. In this case RED Igniter installed, but leaves gas grain generator
assembly later during arming.
Check detonator/igniter continuity using Blaster meter.
6. Assemble Upper Anchor Body & Pressure Relief Sub (Anchor Body Assembly).
• Ensure all O Ring installed at Pressure relief sub including stem/nut and seat.
Connect to top of Upper anchor body
• Ensure all anchor slips installed properly at anchor body.

7. Assemble Non-Integral Severing Head Assembly.
Follow assembly detail in Manual.
This assembly is including assembly of Catalyst Sub, grease pumping to severing head, severing
head piston, bull plug, seal nut, and adjustable bottom centralizer.
8. Inspect Chemical Cylinder (pre-assembly check) from Leak.
Inspect cylinder using Litmus paper, ensure in vertical or elevated position. Isolate cylinder if there
is leaking (litmus paper change to red) and put Red Tag – Leaking.
9. Assemble Chemical cylinder to Severing Head Assembly.
Note: ensure 12” minimum tool stand is used to have cylinder elevated.
Connect end of cylinder to Severing head, complete with Teflon and copper thread protector.
Ensure leak test is performed before opening each of cylinder shipping plug.
Install Severing head Protector.
Install tandem centralizer and 2nd cylinder.
10. Screw lower anchor body into top of cylinder.
11. Final Assembly at Rig Floor/Wellhead:
a. Screw cable head, CCL/GR-CCL tool to Gas Generator Assembly (GGS + Firing Head) with
no gas grain generator included.
b. Cut gas grain as per length required (16” + 2”), insert into GGS.
c. Screw Anchor Body Assembly (Pressure Relief + Upper Anchor Body) to bottom GGS.
d. Install Anchor protector at anchor body.
e. With top end of Cylinder on tool stand, screw upper anchor body to it.
f. Take measurement from GR/CCL to Severing Head orifice.
12. Pick up tool into lubricator, remove each protector at severing head & anchor body.
If no PCE used, open each protector once tool almost entering the tubing.
