1. RED MENU
How to enter "Red Menu":
BACK + LEFT UPPER SOFT KEY (Audi MIB - old)

NAV/MAP + MEDIA (Audi MIB - new)
Press "MENU" button for 30s. and choose "System update" (Seat/Skoda/VW MIB)
2. GREEN MENU
Firstly you need to activate Green Menu in 5F module via VCP:
1. Engineer mode
2. Security Access 20103
3. Developer mode- activated (option no 45 or 50)
GREEN MENU (Engineering Menu) can be powered on with common key combination:
BACK + LEFT LOWER SOFT KEY (Audi MIB - old)

NAV/MAP + RADIO (Audi MIB - new)
Press "MENU" button for 30s. and choose "Green Engineering Menu" (Seat/Skoda/VW MIB)
3. How to login RCC/MMX console

Modyfications can be done with D-Link DUB-E100 HW rev. D1 or lower.
Change your network settings: Network and Internet -> Change adapter settings -> Local Area Connection Properties ->
Properties -> Check and choose "Properties" on: Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Then make settings like on picture:
Connection with RCC/MMX console can be done with PuTTY program.
4. !!! BACKUP !!!

For making backup you need to put clean fully-formatted FAT32 to SD1 slot on MMI device. Before making any change in system
you need to make an backup of eeprom, RCC (flash), MMX (flash) from 172.16.250.248:123 console:

5. System patch, *.FEC edit, disable Component Protections

When backup is done, copy files to your computer. FecContainer.fec file contains licenses for MapCare, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto etc.
To extend MapCare you must to edit *.fec code. If your car was designed to USA market, your map code will look as:
0aa100bb -> where "aa" is car model, "bb" is MapCare limited time license, "1" is USA market (need to be changed to "0"), for example:
0aa000bb.
*.fec file can be editted with WhatTheFec.exe program for MIB1:

If you want to add Apple CarPlay/Android Auto feature to your car, you must to add three codes to the *.fec file: 00060300,
00060800, 00060900. Click "+" button in WhatTheFec and add codes one by one.
Patches math only version for which they are!!! So if you have MHIG_EU_AU_K1549 firmware installed in unit you cannot use patch for
MHIG_EU_AU_P1048 avoiding MMI unit damage! If in patch pack there is no patch matching yours unit firmware you need to update
firmware. Prepare card with firmware acording to your car model and navigation generation (MIB1 for MIB1 4GB card or bigger, MIB2 for
MIB2 8GB card, MIB2.5 for MIB 2.5 8GB card). Before putting files to card you must fully-format this card to FAT32, then unpack files to the
card. Also you can put to card firmware folders with patches (_patch and _patch_CP). When firmware update is done (perform this
operation from RED MENU with card putted to SD1 slot - like in 3G-series MMI) firsly you need to patch firmware. Leave card with patched
files in SD1 slot, login to 172.16.250.248:123 console and put those command to the unit (you can copy direclty to console window by
clicking MOUSE RIGHT BUTTON):
Patched IFS-ROOT.ifs can be installed with those commands: (FEC only):

flashunlock
flashit -a 540000 -d -v -f /net/mmx/fs/sda0/_patch/ifs-root.ifs
flashlock
/usr/apps/mib2_ioc_flash reboot
Component Protection patch (error in 5F will be exist but system will works normal). Patched IFS-ROOT.ifs can be installed with those
commands: (FEC + CP):
flashunlock
flashit -a 540000 -d -v -f /net/mmx/fs/sda0/_patch_CP/ifs-root.ifs
flashlock
/usr/apps/mib2_ioc_flash reboot
Replace *.fec file can be done with those commands:

rm /mnt/efs-persist/FEC/*.fec
cp -r /net/mmx/fs/sda0/FecContainer.fec /mnt/efs-persist/FEC/FecContainer.fec
After replacing *.fec you must restart unit (old MIB: MENU + KNOB + RIGHT UPPER SOFTKEY, new MIB: NAV/MAP + RADIO + KNOB, other
VAG units: put down on hold POWER button for 45 sec.).
Patching is ready, go to the next step!!!

7. European Map Update

Before map update tou need to erase MAP PARTITION on HDD. Run VCP, connect to 5F module and choose Basic Settings ->
HDD_Partition_Format -> Parameter: Navigation DataBase then click "Start!".
Maps can be downloaded from here (P177 2019/2020). Unpack files to 32GB card fully-formatted to FAT32.
Map should be updated from "Settings menu -> Update system -> Update from: SD1", not from "RED MENU". Map update will take around
1h.
8. Apple Carplay/AndroidAuto CODING

If you want to add Apple CarPlay/AndroidAuto feature to your car you need to add to *.FEC file needed codes and make coding with VCP:
Connect to 5F module, go to "Adaptation", from list choose "Car Configuration" and make changes:
Google_GAL -> ON
Apple_DIO -> ON
Mirror_link -> ON
Smartphone_interface_for_rhmi -> ON
In some MMI systems you need to change USB adapter!!!
9. Conversion USA -> EU

If you need to perform conversion from USA to EU unit firstly you must install Advanced Green Menu. If password for unit is know is good.
When not you nedd to perform unit update with according firmware from Audi USA pack.
Unpack files from Developer menu MIB2.7z (folder engdefs) to SD card fully-formatted to FAT32. Login to 172.16.250.248:23
console and put comands:
/bin/mount -uw /mnt/app/
cp -Mqnx -r /net/mmx/fs/sda0/engdefs /mnt/app/eso/hmi/engdefs/
Restart unit, Advanced Green Menu is installed.
Next step to make changes in units eeprom. Each car model has own eeprom procedure. Put clean fully-formatted SD card to SD1 (you will
make backup of edited eeprom to eeprom_US2EU.txt file) and then login to 172.16.250.248:123 console and put comands according to
your car model and MMI version:

If modyfications are done restart unit, wait for system load and open Green Menu. Go to SWDL -> Check: User Defined SWDL and then
SWDL -> development -> Check: Ignore Region and Variant:
Now put to SD1 SD Card with EU firmware, open RED MENU, go to Update -> SD1 -> User-defined -> All (uncheck ONLY
Bose/Bang&Olufsen or any other external audio system avoiding audio failure). Update process can take ~1h.
When update is ready unit will start without EU languges. Now you must perform parametrization with VCP. Go to Can Procedures ->
Apps -> Data Container Loading, check 5F module and load file:

In data container and check VISIBLE_LANGUAGES_EU or AVAIBLE_LANGUAGES_EU push Load Data. Restart unit, full EU language
list will be present on MENU.
Radio conversion can be done with VCP on 5F module:
Go to Coding and change to:

BYTE 3 (BIT0): COUNTRY NAVIGATION – EU
BYTE 9 (BIT0): BAND SETTINGS FM TUNER – EU_RdW
BYTE 9 (BIT4): BAND SETTINGS AM TUNER – EU_RdW
Go to Adaptation:
VEHICLE CONFIGURATION: SDS_Region_F: REGION_EU
When those modyfications are ready now you can go to System patch, *.FEC edit, disable Component Protection and install map.
