Accidents and fatalities may result from failing to abide •by boating safety regulations.
Boaters and fishermen are also susceptible to weather-related accidents. Every week,
boats sink as a result of unpredictably bad weather. Another issue is the absence of
safety procedures taken by the locals before going to the beach or the ocean. The tragic

title of this project is "Arduino-Based Solar-Powered Emergency Code Light
Transmitter for Fishing Boats." This initiative was started to make it easier for
fisherman who need assistance—say, due to a broken boat engine—to get it. The goal
of the project is to create a solar-powered device that is compact, portable, and simple
to operate. The light is a nautical emergency signal in Morse code called SOS, or Save
Our Souls. The layout of this project will guarantee 360-degree sight.

In this study, several scopes and limitations of the project have been identified namely:
i. This is an interface category project that employs a solar system and a 240 VAC
alarm light as hardware and interfaces with a distress code circuit using an
Arduino Uno.
ii. This project makes use of a solar system, which includes a solar panel, a solar
controller, and an inverter as the primary energy source.
iii. When turned on, the distress signal code light will flash slowly and persistently
in the shape of an S.O.S Morse code signal.

Figure 7.4 shown a solid-state relay (SSR) allows circuit to control high-current of AC
loads from lower voltage DC control circuitry. Solid state relays have several
advantages over mechanical relays. One such advantage is that it can be switched by a
much lower voltage and at a much lower current than most mechanical relays. Also,
because there’s no moving contacts, solid state relays can be switched much faster and
for much longer periods without wearing out.

that may be connectedto various expansion boards (shields) and other circuits. The board
has 14 digital I/O pins (six capable of producing PWM), 6 analog I/O pins, and can be
programmed withArduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment), via a type B
USB cable. It can be powered by a USB cable or by a battery 9 volts external, although it
accepts voltages between 7 and 20 volts. It is similar to the Arduino Nano and Leonardo.

In order to complete this project, an Arduino UNO software called Arduino IDE will be
utilized as shown in Figure 8.1. The software uses C and C++ are the programming
languages which is standard across all of Arduino boards and can be used either online
or offline. It includes a code editor with features such as text cutting and pasting,
searching and replacing text, automatic indenting, brace matching, and syntax
highlighting, and provides simple one-click mechanisms to compile and upload
programs to an Arduino board. It also contains a message area, a text console, a toolbar
with buttons for common functions and a hierarchy of operation menus. The source
code for the IDE is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2.
User-written code only requires two basic functions, for starting the sketch and the main

program loop, that are compiled and linked with a program stub main () into an executable
cyclic executive program with the GNU toolchain, also included with the IDE
distribution. The Arduino IDE employs the program avrdude to convert the executable
code into a text file in hexadecimal encoding that is loaded into the Arduino board by a
loader program in theboard’s firmware.

for electronic design automation. The software is used mainly by electronic design
engineers and technicians to create schematics and electronic prints for
manufacturing printed circuit boards. It was developed in Yorkshire, England by
Labcenter Electronics Ltd and is available in English, French, Spanish and Chinese

Overall, it can be concluded that this innovation project is very suitable to be applied in
locations that require immediate rescue. Watery locations such as rivers, lakes and
oceans are examples of locations that can use this innovative product. In addition,
locations such as mountains, hills and remote areas can also use it. This project is very

beneficial, useful, and can be used as a valuable instrument to support human rescue
efforts when in danger. The use of Morse code "S.O.S" is a unique feature not found in
similar equipment. This device is designed to send an emergency signal by using a siren
light to notify or warn nearby boats in the event of significant danger or a situation
requiring immediate assistance. The device is programmed to emit an SOS signal that
reads "Save Our Souls" or "Save Our Ship" in Morse code.

For the purpose of improvement, several approaches have been identified to be
highlighted in the future after this project is completed, namely:
i. Added 3 pin plug socket and socket connector suitable for power cable
system.
ii. Changed the solar panel size to 25 watts for a faster solar charging rate.
iii. Change the ON/OFF switch button to a reflective shape or glow in the dark
for better visibility.
iv. Added a GPS tracking feature that can be tracked in the website by rescue
teams.
