Guide Questions:

The short story does provide interesting details because, from the start, it's already detailed
where and when the lottery happened and how relevant it has been. In the middle part of the
story, it can go through your senses on how they've been doing the lottery. It also adequately
informs the audience what the lottery is really all about. In my perspective, the author doesn't get
the audience's emotions to its full potential; because base on how it been written it's just
narrating the story. But instead, it starts off light and happy before becoming firm and terrifying.
The Lottery is considered by people to be a good story . It can hook readers in with an Innocent
start before progessively exposing the dark side of th lottery process. Its structure as a whole
makes a substantial contribution to its influence and continuous relevance. The Lottery
characters are well drawn because they fit their roles perfectly. Each character in the story frm
the steadfast traditionalist Old Man Warner to the seemingly average housewife Tessie
Hutchinson who eventually questions the system, brings complexity to the themes of tradition,
conformity, and the darker side of human nature. But there are some characters that I can't really
idetify their purpose so there are some not needed characters. For me the conflict in The Lottery
arises between the scary tradition of the lottery and the individual characters' desires and fears
surrounding it(my opinion:p). The story speaks to the readers how villagers carry out their
tradition of performing dangerous rituals without hesitating to sacrifice the winner. The ceremony
is meant to convey to the readers the danger that could result from slavishly following tradition.
It raises questions about life because it shows that what people
believe is different on what it should be like the lottery ritual they believe that they will have a
good harvest but it's just a belief. It also shows the darkside of humans of blindly followng
tradition without the thought of the sad violence and more. The story “The Lottery” is a good
story about traditions and rituals. It is well written but it's kinda scary, and danger plot twist. First
I thought it was just a game that villagers is playing every certain day, but when I reached the
conflict part I was shocked that it has dark ending. Maybe the story is for people who like stories
that had a dark theme.
