FOREWORD

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has started 10032 YSR Village

Health clinics to improve the Health care delivery to the remote areas. To

achieve this objective Mid Level Health Provider (CHO) are appointed to treat

the common health problems. This module is prepared to provide knowledge

regarding the usage of common drugs, their dosages in treating the day to

day problems. The CHO’s can use the drugs in emergency situations in

consultation with PHC Medical Officer or Specialist Doctor taking due

precautions. In case of chronic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD,

Arthritis and Neurological diseases, the disease confirmation and treatment

should be initiated by PHC Medical Officer or Specialist Doctor. The

treatment and dispensing of the drugs can be continued by the CHO.

However, the Psychiatric medications should be strictly initiated in

consultation with Specialist Doctors only.

This document is prepared based on guidelines issued by Ayushman

Bharat, ICMR and WHO guidelines. Equipping the Health Care Centres with

trained CHO’s will surely improve the Health and wellness in Andhra Pradesh

State.
