RECAP : HOW DID THE BEATLES INFLUENCE OTHER ARTISTS

The Beatles invented pop music. Their music is characterized by a simple melody and lyrics with a simple
message. They influenced “pretty much anyone involved in music” and “they completely changed the
way music works”.
They started fighting the class system with their music and their lyrics, using humour as a weapon to
drive their message home. They criticized society openly in order to make things change.
Bono associates the Beatles with the Irish people who have always been discriminated against by the
British and who resent it. They saw the Beatles as a means to express their resentment against the
Establishment.
The Beatles represented happiness for Bono.
The group Oasis sounds so much like the Beatles that they’ve been called the Beatles thieves.

trying to decide on a band name that would be a sort of tribute to the Fab Four.
