OPERATION, INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR MANUAL OF BELT SWAY

SWITCH

CONSTRUCTION:
It consists of strongly built sheet steel switch structure incorporated with programme switch. This
enclosure is enclosed in dust and vermin proof epoxy Grey painted Cast aluminium housing.
Operating lever with roller arrangement fitted on switch housing in such a way that it can set
actuated 45degree on either side and are spring return type.
OPERATION:
This switch is mounted near the conveyor belt edge with a small clearance between operating
lever roller and belt edge so as to avoid nuisance tripping due to normally acceptable swaying. At
the time of excessive swaying the conveyor belt edge pushes operating lever, which in turn
actuates programme switch contacts. When the excessive swaying stops, the operating lever
automatically resets to normal position due to the action of heavy duty deflection spring, which
absorbs hard shocks received by the operating lever from The belt and hence long trouble free
service life is ensured by the programme switch.

INSTALLATION:
The belt sway switches are to be installed on both sides of conveyor belt, preferably in horizontal
or vertical position.

MAINTENANCE:
1). Periodically check the switching element for dust accumulation inside. Clean unit by
blowing low pressure air by blower. Clean switching element contact with a soft brush.
2). After cleaning please ensure that top cover is properly fixed.
