Towards the end of the Crusades, the Order of the Teutonic Knights transitioned into a military organization and began to convert north-eastern Europe to Christendom. The Order of Teutonic Knights expansion can help you increase your military power. This route can be difficult and expensive, but few armies will be able to resist the power of the Teutonic Knights! Included in this expansion: 1 x Teutonic Knight Grand Master Title, 4 x Teutonic Knight Title, 24 Teutonic Knight Troop counters (4 per Player), 5 x Teutonic Strongholds/Fortified Cities. TK1.0 PHASE 1. HEAR YE, HEAR YE “re! UTONIC KNIGHTS GRAND MAST Election: The Teutonic Knights Grand Master election takes place before Bishop eleetions (1.4) (and after the nplar Grand Master election ifthe Templar Expansions is in play). ‘Candidates: Any Lords with Teutonic Lord Titles, who are not prisoners, excommunicated and not a Renegade. Votes: A Player receives one vote for each of his Teutonic Lords. A. Lord may vote for himself Election Result: A candidate is elected by a simple majority (more votes than any other candidate), with a r 2votes. He may have a Fief Title, but can muledeael King. A Teutonic Lord may not attack another Teutonic Lord. A Teutonic Lord may never sponsor an Assassination (10.3). ‘TK3.0 PHASE 4. PURCHASE TK3.1 TEUTONIC FORTIFICATIONS A Teutonic Fortification (Stronghold or Fortified City) denotes a power center of the Order of Teutonic Knights. A Player at least one ‘Teutonic Lord can once per Purchase Phase purchase or upgrade a Teutonic Stronghold or Teutonic Fortified TK 5.1.1 TEUTONIC STRONGHOLD Cost: 10 Deniers to place a Teutonic Stronghold on a Village with no or 4 Deniers to upgrade an existing normal Stronghold with a Teutoni Placement: On any Village occupied by one of your Teutonic Lords. TK 3.1.2 TEUTONIC FORTIFIED CITY A Teutonic Stronghold is exchanged with a Teutonic Fortified City counter when the Fief Title for that Fiefdom is purchased (4.3). A normal Fortified City can be upgraded into a ‘Teutonic Fortified City for 4 Deniers, if occupied by a Teutonic Lord - ‘TK 5.1.5 TEUTONIC FORTIFICATIONS SPECIAL ABILITIES hhave the same defenses as normal Strongholds and Fortified Cities: -1 Battle Die Attacker Penalty fora Teutonic Stronghold, -2 Battle Dice Attacker Penalty for a Teutonic Fortified City (6.2.1). Attacks from tunnels with a Secret Passage card (10.2.2) are not allowed against Teutonic Fortifications. A Teutonic Fortification cannot be destroyed by an Uprising. + Teutonic Fortifications within 3 Villages of each other are interconnected by secret passages and trails. Troops and Lords may move from one Teutonie Fortification to the next interconnected Teutonic Fortification for the cost of just 1 Move. A Player moving in this way must receive permission from the Player that controls the Teutonic Fortification he wishes to move to. Opposing armies occupying Villages located between interconnected ‘Teutonic Fortifications are ignored when moving, as are besieging (6.4) opponent armies. Example: KIRSTEN receives permission and moves her Lord and Army from the Teutonic Stronghold of LA SALLE in the NE portion of the map to the Teutonic Stronghold of VILLENE UVE for her first move, She then moves again to the Teutonic Fortified City of ST ANDRE in the SE portion of the map for her second move. She moved her army across the Kingdom, ignoring any opposing armies in Villages between the Teutonic Fortifications! TK3.2 TEUTONIC KNIGHT TROOPS Teutonic Knights must be placed in a Teutonic Fortification, Effects: . ‘Teutonic Knights move and battle like normal Knights and can move and battle with non-Teutoni Lords. Ifa Battle is led by a Teutonic Lord, then each Battle Dice roll total is increased by a +1f Bonus Hit for every two ‘Teutonic Knights participating in the Battle. Ifa Teutonic Knights Grand Master is in play, this bonus increases toa +1f Bonus Hit for each Teutonic Knight participating in the Battle + Teutonic Knight Troops killed in Battle are placed back onto the player's Family Board and can be repurchased in future Purchase Phases.
