INTRODUCTION
Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions. They
involve serious problems in how one thinks about food and
eating behavior. You can eat much less or much more than
you need. Eating disorders are medical conditions.

Eating disorders are problems that affect a person's
eating behaviors, as well as attitudes toward food and
physical appearance.

Eating disorders affect a person's mental health and


can cause serious damage to physical health.

There are several different types of eating disorders .


What types of eating
disorders are there?
The most common are: Binge eating disorder: It is the disorder in which the person feels
periodic desires to eat food in an uncontrolled way, without causing vomiting. Bulimia: An
eating disorder characterized by periods of compulsive eating, followed by periods of guilt
and vomiting. Anorexia nervosa: Disorder characterized by a refusal of food in which there is
an aversion to food intake, not eating, considerable weight loss and is usually accompanied by
induced vomiting, and is accompanied by other somatic and psychological symptoms that
affect to the person, in the case of women, disappearance of menstruation, problems related to
the skin, anemia, among others.

esteem, feelings of inadequacy or lack of control over
your life, depression, anxiety, anger and/or loneliness,

suffering from it?
An eating disorder is characterized by abnormalities
in eating habits that can involve both insufficient or
excessive food intake affecting the physical and
emotional health of an individual, therefore it can be
detected especially with the sudden drop or increase
in weight, absence of the menstrual period in the case
of women, skin problems, anemia, loss of sodium and
potassium that is determined with blood tests.
From the behavioral aspect, changes in mood,
excessive sadness, isolation, among others.
