INTRODUCTION
Rust refers to a reddish coating formed on iron
when exposed to moist air (Merriam-Webster
Dictionary, 1978). When oxygen comes into
contact with a metal (such as iron), it causes
oxidation and the formation of rust. Rust reduces
the product's effectiveness and degrades the
metal's quality (Department of Physics, University
of Illinois,2011).
A bio-lubricant is a lubricant
produced from plants such as okra, flax
seeds, and cacti that biodegrades and is
non-toxic for human beings and other living
organism (Department of Ecology, State of
Washington,2019). Mucilage cells are found
in the epidermal cells of Mammillaria
species and are common in many cacti
(Janu, et al., 2011).
Cactus (family Cactaceae) has
more than 2000 species and 175
genera. Cacti are native in places
that are either tropical o subtropical
as they adapt well in dry regions. The
internal structure of cactus follows
the pattern of broad-leaved
angiosperms; a cambium dividing
the cells in between woody inner
tissues are existent (Encyclopedia,
Britannica 2019).

Mucilage are said to be common in many cacti
(Biological Science, Texas 2019). Mammillaria is of the
largest genera in the cactus family. It currently has 171
species known with other varieties getting known every
year. In some kinds whose epidermal cells are sinuous,
mucilage substance can be extracted (Janu, et al., 2011).

researchers will not explore on the other
