ABSTRACT

This study examines Swadeshi's role in Mahatma Gandhi's independence struggle. Swadeshi
promotes local production to strengthen the local economy and foster collaboration and self-
sufficiency. Self-sufficiency and collaboration promote Swadeshi manufacturing, jobs, and
small companies. Swadeshi helped India gain independence by lowering foreign commodity
dependency and creating a space for political demonstrations. Indian imports fell due to the
boycott. Swadeshi remains vital. Swadeshi ideals promote economic fairness via self-
sufficiency, teamwork, and local manufacturing. Small companies, import reduction, and
local production can help the government promote Swadeshi. Chakra Khadi, a hand-spun
and hand-woven cotton fabric, promoted self-sufficiency and employed thousands during
India's independence. Swadeshi may promote locally made items like Chakra Khadi to create
jobs, stimulate small businesses, and eliminate poverty. Swadeshi may help everyone.
Today's Swadeshi must support local manufacturing, job creation, and economic growth.
Swadeshi may aid small firms and create a fairer economy.
